The Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure Finance team is a dynamic, evolving team at the forefront of Microsoft’s cloud-first strategy. We are seeking motivated individuals to help shape the future of our cloud products.

The team’s charter is to build end-to-end Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure while reducing unit cost of capacity and supporting gross margin growth for cloud services. As a key member of the team, you will support short- and long-term investments through detailed modeling and competitive analysis. The focus is on hardware cost-reduction initiatives from product concept through production approval and ramp, ensuring Microsoft Cloud remains competitive while providing transparency into infrastructure investments and safeguarding shareholder interests.

Responsibilities

The Cloud Hardware and Emerging Technologies team is responsible for the GM health of the different cloud businesses through a focus on emerging technologies and hardware solutions. The Hardware Cost Senior Finance Manager is a critical part of this team, ensuring the Microsoft Cloud businesses achieve the gross margin targets by proactively optimizing our roadmap investments from targeted hardware solutions. This includes decision support for approved offerings, technologies, programs, and investments, defining financial models, developing and managing KPIs agreed to as part of the development process, including TCO analysis for optimization, and margin accountability.

We are looking for a proactive individual who is eager to learn the Azure business and make an impact through effective partnership with key finance and engineering teams, continuous process improvements, and delivering business insights.

This role is an excellent opportunity to:

Provide insightful cost management and program analysis focused on short- to long-range planning and roadmap products, and achieving gross margin targets.Collaborate with finance, engineering, product development, and Azure business groups to drive product profitability, identifying cross-functional efficiencies for many of the most important businesses to Azure's profitability.Collaborate with planning teams to define, forecast, and support optimal development strategies.Contribute to hardware development processes to drive accountability and track progress toward TCO margin goals.Continuously improve and evolve insights through clear financial analysis and KPIs that influence and impact the business.Present findings in deliverables that enable decision-making across executive engineering, business, and finance leaders.Drive decision support and actionable insights in dynamic and evolving environments, ensuring clarity and alignment across stakeholders.Foster collaboration and influence outcomes without direct authority, while constructively challenging ideas and providing thoughtful feedback when needed.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications: Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field ORBachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.

Preferred QualificationsMasters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience ORBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.

1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.

1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.

1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.

2+ years of demonstrated leadership experience with strong analytical modeling and strategic thinking skills.

2+ years of proven expertise in data and financial modeling, including proficiency with financial systems.

2+ years of experience communicating complex analyses in a clear, concise manner, with executive-level oral and written communication skills.

2+ years of delivering high-value, high-impact projects through proactive execution and collaboration across cross-functional teams, including engineering.

2+ years of experience working across multiple levels of detail, from strategic initiatives to in-depth COGS analysis.

2+ years of prior experience in product cost management and/or product development finance.

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
