Description

The Corporates Services Finance team provides key insights that help corporate business partners at Microsoft make better financial and business decisions. The Operations Finance team supports the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of the company and the COO team's drive for Continuous Improvement and AI (artificial intelligence) productivity gains while delighting customers.

We are looking for a Senior Finance Manager, Engineering Operations, to partner with with Finance and Operations teams and leaders to support the Commerce + Ecosystems engineering team within the Operations organization. This covers a wide range of responsibilities which includes various modeling and business analysis, finance partnership, and the creation and ownership of efficient financial processes. In this position, you will be a motivated and agile system thinker, demonstrating intellectual curiosity and navigating ambiguity and complexity to be the trusted finance advisor to our finance leaders and drive success for our business partners.

Business and Finance Partnership: Give visibility to business and Finance leadership to the current investment landscape, identifying and recommending levers to drive operational leverage through budget optimization and allocation. Collaborates to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results.Business Health: Drive process excellence while partnering across Operations and Finance to continuously assess the overall health of the business and understand key drivers to identify opportunities, risks, and trade-offs. Ensure resources and investments are constantly aligned with business strategy, product engineering road-maps, and company priorities. Budget and Investment Analysis: Builds a holistic and cohesive story by incorporating business insights into investment envelope. Analyzes results to understand performance against plan/forecast, and monitors trends and key levers to support various rhythm of the business and finance. Builds investment business cases in partnership across business and finance.Rhythm of Business (ROB): Delivers analysis, modeling, and research to support preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles. Assists in the execution of annual business planning and forecasting process.Other: Embody our Culture and Values

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related fieldOR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related fieldOR equivalent experience.2+ years of experience and knowledge with financial modeling.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or Finance work experienceOR Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experienceOR equivalent experience.1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.Proven data and financial modeling capabilities, scenario analysis and ability to work with financial systems.Ability to communicate complex analysis in a simple way, including communications to executive level audiences.Self-starter with an ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines, exhibit attention to detail, quickly prioritize for impact and the resourcefulness to deliver data driven insights.Interpersonal and cross group collaboration skills with an ability to influence and impact without authority, operate in ambiguity, and solve difficult problems.High-level of integrity with an ability to prioritize and function in a dynamic and matrix environment.

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
