Description
The goal of the Revenue and Gross Margin team is to provide key insights that help Microsoft make better financial and business decisions. Our team is at the hub of Microsoft's financial activities, being a key strategic partner to all sides of the business and serving a diverse set of stakeholders: CFOs, Senior Leadership Team, engineering groups, and sales and marketing teams.As a member of the Commercial Business Intelligence (CBI) team, you will be part of a team of analysts focused on holistically analyzing the progression and behavior of our commercial revenue. Our team provides actionable insight and foresight to product, sales, operations, planning, marketing, and finance partners, and shapes the future of how we measure business health.
Finance Manager in our team help us transform the way we measure business performance, manage resources, and lead financial activities using business intelligence, modeling, and analytics. As the Finance Manager - Centeral Finance Team, you will have a unique opportunity to use your insights and strategic thinking to partner with leaders on financial decisions, investments, efficiency, and process transformation projects.

Provide insights and recommendations to achieve revenue goals and collaborate with partners to define financial analysis action plans. Effectively communicate business performance through storytellingPartner with key stakeholders to deep dive on volume licensing, discounting, and renewals performance driversSupport Investor Relations on various close and forecast analytics and ensure accuracy of metrics published externallyLead projects to improve commercial reporting and analysis across close, forecast, and budgetPartner to eliminate manual efforts for data cleansing – through AI, automation, machine learning, etc.Embody our culture and values
Qualifications
Required/Minimum QualificationsMaster's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related fieldOR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related fieldOR equivalent experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 3+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experienceOR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 5+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience.OR equivalent experience.Understanding of software and cloud revenue drivers.Systems, tools and technology savvy; financial reporting and power Excel expertise; prior knowledge of Microsoft Sales and/or Mercury is a plus; advanced PowerPoint skills are a plus.Detail-oriented and thorough, with the ability to think “big picture” and understand the key trends and levers that drive Microsoft’s business.Ability to manage multiple projects, and work creatively and effectively in ambiguous situations.Efficient cross-group collaboration and executive presence.Financial Analysis IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $75,100 - $148,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $98,800 - $163,300 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
