Overview

The Finance Director – MCAPS Reporting is a senior finance leader responsible for the end to end financial reporting, insights, and reporting platforms supporting Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS).

In this position, you lead a team who owns the relevance, accuracy, consistency, and executive readiness of MCAPS financial tools and reports across close, forecast, planning, and performance management, for Revenue, P&L and Headcount management.

This leader is also responsible for shaping the future state reporting ecosystem across MCAPS globablly, leveraging AI, automation and standardization.

Responsibilities

MCAPS Finance Reporting & Insights

Own the end to end MCAPS Finance reporting ecosystem across close, forecast, planning, and performance management, for Revenue, P&L and Headcount, connecting business, finance leadership, and engineering.Standardize and centralize reporting through One MCAPS Reporting Packs and the MCAPS Finance Reporting Hub.Ensure accurate, consistent reporting across Revenue, P&L, Headcount, and Blueprint metrics in partnership with Core, Field, and Engineering teams.Serve as the single point of accountability for reporting accuracy, metric definitions, hierarchies, and issue resolution.Define and execute the strategic roadmap for MCAPS Finance Reporting & Tools, including governance, controls, and compliance.AI and Automation Leadership – Defining the Future StateLead MCAPS wide AI initiatives that eliminate repetitive work and materially improve finance productivity. Accelerate automation, AI adoption, and process simplification to improve speed, consistency, and decision support.Drive modernization of MCAPS Finance reporting and tools in partnership with FD&E, including FinHub, Fusion Forecast, and core data platforms.Own the mid to long term vision and roadmap for reporting and tools, prioritizing automation, scalability, and insight quality.

Cross Functional Partnership and Leadership

Partner with Engineering teams (FD&E, MS Sales, EDOT) to translate finance requirements into scalable data models and reporting solutions.Collaborate with Core and Field Finance teams to deliver standardized reporting and actionable insights.Support executive and leadership decision making through targeted ad hoc analysis and reporting.

People Leadership

Lead a mixed team of FTEs and vendors, setting clear priorities, timelines, and quality standards.Develop team capability in finance acumen, data storytelling, and stakeholder management.Drive operational excellence through repeatable processes, documentation, and onboarding.Lead effectively in ambiguous, cross org environments, influencing without authority and driving alignment.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications:

Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 10+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.1+ year(s) experience managing direct reports.

Additional or preferred qualifications:

10+ years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A, reporting, planning, or performance management in a complex, global organization.Proven experience owning large scale financial reporting and analytics across close and forecast processes.Demonstrated ability to partner with and influence senior leaders (Director, GM, CVP level).Strong financial acumen, analytical judgment, and executive communication skills.Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 12+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 15+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.5+ years experience managing direct reports.5+ years experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.5+ years work experience in matrix-based organization.5+ years work experience in the technology or software industry.Knowledge of Microsoft systems such as MS Sales, FinHub, other data cubes etc. is strongly desired.Knowledge of Microsoft’s financial processes (close, forecast, budget). Field experience is strongly preferred.Experience partnering with finance engineering or data platform teams (e.g., reporting tools, Power BI ecosystems, planning systems).Track record driving finance transformation, including automation, reporting standardization, or AI enabled insights.Familiarity with MCAPS business rhythms, sales motions, and revenue mechanics.

Financial Analysis M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
