Description
The Commercial Products and Infrastructure (CPI) org is responsible for driving Microsoft cloud & AI capacity, margin excellence, and resource allocation rigor across Microsoft’s portfolio. Within CPI, the Resource Investment Strategy (RIS) finance team is an exciting and fast-evolving team that partners deeply with engineering leaders to ensure $20B+ resources across ~100K engineering full time employees (FTE's) are continuously aligned to strategic engineering priorities. We are looking for a Finance Director, Cloud and AI, R&D to join the Cloud and AI team within RIS to assist us in this critical work.In this role, you will partner across multiple stakeholders including engineering, operations and finance to ensure resource investments align to long term strategy. You will be at the heart of the AI transition and Cloud infrastructure, providing key decision support as our engineering leaders navigate our Cloud and AI ambitions.
The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving ability at multiple altitudes (high-level strategy to tactical execution) and can navigate complexity and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
People management: Lead a high performing team fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and growth mindset. Demonstrate the manager values of model, coach, care.Business and Finance Partnership: Provide leadership to the business and other finance teams with respect to financial management, resource prioritization, and allocation. Ensure investments are aligned to key priorities. Drive analytical and conceptual thinking with engineering stakeholders that extends beyond the numbers into strategy. Influence a compliant culture through actions and education with stakeholders.Decision Support: Apply strategic thinking into resource planning to maximize engineering investments through industry intelligence and benchmarking. Provide deeper insight to enable leadership’s decision on where and how resources should be deployed. Give visibility to the current resource landscape and drive re-deployment discussions. Communicate trade-off scenarios and provide financial analysis for recommendations.Business Health and Planning: Lead finance rhythms with business partners. Take a macro-level approach to analyze results, highlighting trends and key levers.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications:Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 10+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.1+ year(s) experience managing direct reports.Additional or preferred qualifications:Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 12+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 15+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.3+ years experience managing direct reports.5+ years experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.5+ years work experience in the technology or software industry.7+ years experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.Financial Analysis M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
