Thousands of product builders at Microsoft are building AI powered capabilities in our big products like Microsoft 365 Copilot, Teams, Windows, Surface, Microsoft 365 (aka Office), Outlook etc. They depend heavily on a company-wide Microsoft Feedback platform to discover and act on the most impactful customer feedback from dozens of internal and external feedback sources. They also depend on the Feedback Platform to connect with customers to gather more information and to successfully close the loop with customers once feedback has been acted upon.
The Feedback Triage Experiences team in Redmond within the Customer Success Engineering org. builds the apps that enable these product teams to leverage feedback at scale from millions of users to build products with high customer satisfaction. The team is embarking on a journey to deeply leverage AI to radically transform the current offerings and to seamlessly integrate user flows across multiple systems. We are looking for a transformative Principal Engineering Manager to lead this Feedback Triage Experiences engineering team.
This is a critical role with immense opportunity for impact.
Please note this role does not provide international relocations, requires 50%+ time presence in the Redmond office and requires working during Pacific Standard Time work hours.
Partner with Product Management to establish vision, strategy, OKRs, roadmaps and plans for providing AI powered Feedback Triage Experiences. Work hands-on with the team & co-dev partners to design & develop the teams offerings. Mature the team culture to meet the growing business demands as we scale the platform across the company. Create a healthy, energetic & inclusive environment where everyone on the team can do their best work. Collaborate with senior stakeholders across disciplines and org boundaries at Microsoft. Demonstrate Microsoft's leadership principles and Microsoft's culture and values every single day. Team management and work backlog management.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.3+ years’ experience leading engineering teams that have successfully delivered mission critical User Experiences. Proven track record of building healthy and energized teams that excel in delivering high quality solutions with high velocity. Experience leading complex cross organization initiatives and building long-lasting relationships with customers/partners. Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leveraging AI to power user experiences. Deep experience with web/mobile tech stack, cloud services, architecture patterns. Ensuring products meet compliance and regulatory requirements. Software Engineering M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.
