OverviewMicrosoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team is responsible for the full lifecycle of Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure, spanning site selection, development, and operations. Our global footprint includes more than 400 datacenters in 34 countries, supported by over 165,000 miles of fiber optic cable. These facilities form the backbone of Microsoft Azure and are central to our commitment to reliable, secure, and sustainable digital infrastructure.
The CO+I Energy Analytics team builds data platforms and insights that support Microsoft’s global datacenter growth and sustainability goals.
We work across the CO+I Energy Team to translate complex energy data into trusted, actionable insights that inform decisions at scale. Our work helps the Energy Team plan, operate, and optimize responsibly as Microsoft continues to grow its cloud footprint worldwide and solidify its leadership in providing infrastructure for the global AI economy.

As a Technical Program Manager, Energy Analytics, you will be focused on developing the business analytics and actionable insights required to operate and scale one of the world’s largest corporate energy portfolios. A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the utility industry, energy markets, and regulated rates. They will have the ability to identify and solve problems, collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, and independently drive initiatives to completion. They will bring an innovative, collaborative presence to the role to enable energy analytics to scale with confidence as our portfolio grows, helping the business realize growth goals, manage costs, and meet sustainability targets. This role will provide the candidate with a unique opportunity to join a high impact team and gain exposure to business-critical topics of energy markets and data center infrastructure.

Responsibilities
Solution Definition: Defines success criteria and performance metrics (e.g., objectives and key results [OKRs], key performance indicators [KPIs] such as quality and performance) for programs, solutions, services, or integrated systems with limited supervision. Works with partners and/or stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Design) to ensure needed telemetry is developed with guidance. Understands and presents the return on investment.
Program Management: Breaks down the program into projects and ongoing operations with minimal guidance. Collaborates with others to track, coordinate, and communicate end-to-end project schedules for multiple features or functional areas (e.g., product, service, systems), leveraging automation, artificial intelligence, and/or workflows where applicable. Helps monitor processes and hold stakeholders accountable for following the established schedule and processes. Help track and manage dependencies to enable cohesive, connected user scenarios, and to identify potential risk areas and escalate appropriately. Begins to adjust or course correction when projects are not aligned to schedules or goals.
Orchestration and Collaboration: Works within and across teams to enable data sources, methodologies, analytical tools and processes, and business and client needs, to facilitate relevant insight generation, reporting, and interpretation. Engages stakeholders to identify and act on opportunities to leverage resources and solutions that were instrumental to success in similar contexts, and consults across teams on decisions related to analyses, insights reporting, and/or their interpretations. 
Support ADO Pipelines: Coordinate resources through Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines and other Azure Infrastructure (subscription, blob storage, VMs, etc.) to advance deployment and integration workflows, ensuring efficient and reliable delivery of data solutions.
Data Privacy and Governance: Adheres to data privacy and security requirements, responsible and ethical data handling and AI practices, and classification and governance rules and regulations. Ensures data have undergone appropriate Corporate, Executive, and Legal Affairs (CELA) reviews and that work products are in alignment with principles and controls and is aware of where to seek further expertise on data privacy and security rules and regulations when needed.
Coordinate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, program managers, and other stakeholders to deliver results and coordinate regular report outs to stakeholders and leadership.

Required/minimum qualifications
Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects. Additional or preferred qualificationsBachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
