OverviewMicrosoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team is responsible for the full lifecycle of Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure, spanning site selection, development, and operations. Our global footprint includes more than 400 datacenters in 34 countries, supported by over 165,000 miles of fiber optic cable. These facilities form the backbone of Microsoft Azure and are central to our commitment to reliable, secure, and sustainable digital infrastructure.
The CO+I Energy Analytics team builds data platforms and insights that support Microsoft’s global datacenter growth and sustainability goals.
We work across the CO+I Energy Team to translate complex energy data into trusted, actionable insights that inform decisions at scale. Our work helps the Energy Team plan, operate, and optimize responsibly as Microsoft continues to grow its cloud footprint worldwide and solidify its leadership in providing infrastructure for the global AI economy.

As an Energy Analytics Program Manager, you will be focused on developing the business analytics and actionable insights required to operate and scale one of the world’s largest corporate energy portfolios. A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the utility industry, large load energy management, and electricity market structures. They will have the ability to identify and solve problems, collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, and independently drive initiatives to completion. They will bring an innovative, collaborative presence to the role to enable energy analytics to scale with confidence as our portfolio grows, helping the business realize growth goals, manage costs, and meet sustainability targets. This role will provide the candidate with a unique opportunity to join a high impact team and gain exposure to business-critical topics of energy markets and data center infrastructure.

Market Intelligence & Rates: Develop and manage analyses and content related to the global data center portfolio including studies, methodologies, and performance metrics. Research markets, competitors, and industry trends. Performs analysis of supplier pricing, cost, capabilities, and capacity for data centers. Sourcing Strategy: Support the development of forecasting tools and processes, collaborates across large cross-functional organization, sets targets, makes and delivers to budget commitments. Program Management: Collaborate with partner teams to develop strategies to align and manage infrastructure delivery and customer load-side analytics and goals. Collaborates with others to track, coordinate, and communicate end-to-end project schedules for multiple features or functional areas (e.g., product, service, systems), leveraging automation, artificial intelligence, and/or workflows where applicable. Helps monitor processes and hold stakeholders accountable for following the established schedule and processes. Help track and manage dependencies to enable cohesive, connected user scenarios, and to identify potential risk areas and escalate appropriately. Begins to adjust or course correction when projects are not aligned to schedules or goals. Orchestration and Collaboration: Works within and across teams to enable data sources, methodologies, analytical tools and processes, and business needs, to facilitate relevant insight generation, reporting, and interpretation. Engages stakeholders to identify and act on opportunities to leverage resources and solutions that were instrumental to success in similar contexts, and consults across teams on decisions related to analyses, insights reporting, and/or their interpretations. Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 2+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR equivalent experience. Sourcing Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
