Our Electrical Engineering and Firmware team is seeking an Electrical Engineer II with expertise in power delivery and motherboard design.

As an electrical engineer on the team, you will solve some of the interesting problems in high-performance analog and digital circuits, component design, as well as system-level integration. This candidate shall be responsible for analysis, design, integration, and validation of Direct Current-to-Direct Currentconverters as well as overall board schematic integration.

The candidate will be working with the electrical board design and System in a Chip component characteristics, to design and characterize the necessary power domains on the board from a Direct Current, Analog Current, and a thermal perspective across all necessary time domains and power states.

The candidate will have an understanding of chip power/performance trade-offs including Direct Current or leakage power and Analog Current components, and binning associated for voltage and performance binning techniques. Close collaboration with the System in a Chip teams, the board design teams, and the test and manufacturing teams will be essential.

The range of product technologies this candidate shall possess includes high-performance digital buses, thermal management, advanced power conversion, schematic capture, and layout integration.

The candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of core engineering principles, analytical process, disciplined methodology, superior problem-solving skills, and a passion for developing technologies and products with a broad scope of impact. Experience including contribution to the development of world-class consumer electronic products such as video game consoles, set-top boxes, desktop PCs, and laptop/tablet PCs in desired. Good technical leadership, communication skills, and willingness to tackle big challenges are necessary for this position.

Designing, characterizing, specifying and performing cost/performance tradeoffs on Direct Current -DC converters.

Specifying, designing (schematic capture, Printed Circuit Board layout, BOM, cost analysis, prototyping), implementing and verifying electrical subsystems on the motherboard.

Design and optimize Power Delivery Network (PDN) across packages and Printed Circuit Board.

Constant improvements of Power Integrity (PI) models through lab measurements.

Opportunity to work in dynamic cross-functional role to optimize package, Printed Circuit Board, ASIC, mixed signal circuit

Simulation automation, data gathering, analysis and visualization using Statistical Analysis Software, MATLAB or similar tools.

Developing a holistic system-level solution for complex, integrated entertainment devices.

Development of subsystem requirements by working with team members to evaluate different solution options for functionality, cost and risk.

Developing electrical solutions, implementing, verifying and supporting in production. 

Working with other engineers across disciplines to design, test and debug complex hardware technologies for product development, to meet cost and schedule goals.  

Learn, analyze and implement new interfaces and subsystems, break down complex issues and collaborate across cross-functional teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.

Being able to plan work and work to a plan, adapting as necessary in a rapidly evolving environment.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

· 6+ years of technical engineering experience

o OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or

related field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience

o OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or

related field AND 1+ year(s) of technical engineering experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related

field AND 5+ years of technical engineering experience

o OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or

related field AND 3+ years of technical engineering experience.

Electrical Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
