Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than one hundred datacenters and one million servers. Our foundation is built upon and managed by a team of subject matter experts, who work tirelessly to support digital services for more than one billion customers and twenty million businesses in over ninety countries worldwide.

Within CO+I, the Core Datacenter Services (CDS) team is responsible for delivering improving the overall availability and efficiency for Microsoft’s cloud business. We have multiple teams focused on both Microsoft and lessor datacenter performance and all aspects of datacenter utilization effectiveness that includes power, water and labor. We are seeking a Director, Supply Chain Program Management to support the Supply Chain program across datacenters globally.

Lead and mentor a team of program managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Provide expert guidance when working with Software and Hardware Engineering to design crucial technical solutions across feature areas. You’ll also give key stakeholders data-driven recommendations based on identified risks. Define success criteria and create relationships for implementing multiple feature areas for crucial cross-functional projects. You’ll coordinate, ensure alignment, and gain buy-in across the business. Deliver on the multi-year roadmap for multiple feature groups across divisions, lead tracking of project schedules, oversee development of staging and implementation plans, and oversee governance programs. Drive continuous improvements by validating use cases and writing text cases from scratch. Provide expertise needed for departments to collect performance metrics, oversee customer support, and define, lead, and mentor others in direct customer engagements.



Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.4+ years people management experience.3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.4+ years of technical strategy, large-scale operations and/or program/project management experience in a cloud-based technology business or similar industry.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience. 4+ years people management experience.8+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos). 7+ years experience in Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations.Advanced knowledge and understanding of cloud infrastructure and datacenter environments such as power, physical space, rack units, cooling, cable routing and management. Strong background in program management methodologies, approaches, and tools (e.g. PMP/Six Sigma certification).

Technical Program Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
