As we transition into a frontier marketing organization focused on outcomes over activities, we are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Director of Security Operations to drive operational excellence, business measurement, rhythm, and execution across the Security Marketing and Security Business at Microsoft. This newly created role goes beyond traditional program management, serving as a functional leader and strategic partner to the Chief of Staff, Finance, and broader security leadership team.The Director of Security Operations will drive strategy initiatives and helps facilitate for rhythm of business (ROB), creating clarity in ambiguous situations to facilitate and drive prioritization and decision making for leaders across the organization. As appropriate, executes business plans in coordination with program managers to ensure continuation of business operations at all times, including in adverse conditions, in accordance with corporate governance. Leads strategy execution across internal stakeholders and the organization in partnership with the leadership team. Leverages deep knowledge of the organizational strategy and planned deliverables for the upcoming year(s) to design complex budgets. Leads in conjunction with stakeholders and the leadership team on multiple workstreams. Shares goals, objectives, vision, and best practices across the Business Management community at Microsoft. Ensures a healthy scorecard for the team/organization, champions and influences culture initiatives aligned to defined People Strategy, connecting leaders and teams to One Microsoft Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) plan resources and guidance. Drives cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and to manage complex business needs. May lead executive-level communication with a variety of internal audiences.

Architect the Rhythm of the Business (RoB) strategy, and lead the planning, business reviews, and operational cadence, communicating effectively with senior leaders and partner teams. Uses strategy plans to inform structure and business insights to predict business outcomes. Works with senior leaders to drive outcomes. Planning includes partnering with Engineering, Sales, and Finance to develop the full meeting cadence and business communications strategy for the CSA, documenting the plan, socializing the plan, and driving approval of the plan with Security leadership. Own fiscal year budget and headcount planning and execution, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and financial discipline. Work with Security CVP and Finance to allocate the people and program budget cascaded from Marketing LT aligned to organizational priorities in prescribed templates. Drive the fiscal year Marketing planning cycle meetings, managing consolidated planning calendar and rhythms to support and ensure cross-team planning workstreams are on time and cascade from Marketing and Business priorities, Partner with marketing leaders responsible for the Security growth strategy, priorities, marketing plan, GTM plan, and Marcom plan to ensure on-time delivery. Define, track and report on the Security business metrics and dashboards to showcase business performance. Responsible for the development and maintenance of dashboards. Partner with the Strategy and GTM teams to integrate marketing scorecard metrics in the dashboard and business health metrics to support the RoB. Sets best practices for long-term company strategy within existing businesses, and advocates and presents business cases to senior leadership Instill operational discipline by standardizing processes and timelines, ensuring data integrity and quality in all business reporting such as developing dashboard views to review business metrics and developing workbacks to support planning as needed. Manage and end-to-end Security Launch Council, ensuring cross-functional alignment and readiness across product, marketing, and field teams. Prioritize the content to be reviewed, lead the planning and execution for the meetings including meeting facilitation and recaps of decisions made and actions. Drive execution of marketing budget, headcount affordability, and the marketing units of production, ensuring alignment to quarterly accountability and outcomes tied to business priorities and metrics. Ensure overall execution of Security marketing quarterly budget to ensure we meet targets. Assists in the coordination of metrics for budgeting and forecasting; identifies actions that can be taken to course-correct and drive performance improvement; anticipates business challenges based on forecasts and develops plans, accordingly, contributes knowledge to strategic investment decisions. Works with Procurement team to coordinate future resources. Ensures that the leader is aligned on the headcount strategy and participates in or leads the organizational design for headcount allocation. Supports additional rhythm of the business cadences as needed based on business needs. Serve as a strategic partner to the Chief of Staff to CVP, providing seamless support and continuity as needed to ensure consistent executive effectiveness and rhythm of business execution. Identify and implement tools or systems to improve team productivity (e.g., reporting automation, project tracking, AI, and agents). Champion the adoption of these technologies across the team. Qualifications
Required/Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related rolesOR equivalent experience.8+ years of experience in business operations, strategic planning, or program management.3+ years of experience managing budgets, dashboards, and Metrics. Additional/Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 12+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related rolesOR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 15+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related rolesOR equivalent experience.
Business Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
