Within CO&I, the Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) organization is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. Responsibilities
Regional Equipment Sourcing & Procurement Manager – Data Center Infrastructure is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for critical data center equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and IT infrastructure components. This role ensures continuity of supply, cost optimization, supplier performance, and risk mitigation to support global data center expansion and operations.
The position partners closely with Engineering, Construction, Capacity Planning, Finance, and Operations teams to forecast demand, negotiate supply agreements, manage vendor relationships, and ensure the timely delivery of high‑quality equipment to data center sites worldwide.
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
Develop and own procurement strategies for major data center equipment categories (e.g., UPS systems, generators, switchgear, power distribution units, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, & HAC).Conduct project assessments, regional segmentation, and cost modeling to identify opportunities for optimization.Lead RFx processes (RFI/RFP/RFQ) from requirements gathering through supplier selection and contract execution.Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, benchmarking regional projects, and long‑term sourcing roadmaps in partnership with Category teams.Supplier Management & Performance
Establish and manage supplier relationships, ensuring quality, capacity, delivery performance, and continuous improvement.Conduct weekly reviews (WBRs), risk assessments, and corrective action plans.Partner with suppliers on New Product Introduction (NPI), scaling production capacity, and engineering alignment across regional projects.Contracting & Negotiation
Negotiate commercial terms for project specifics, enforce master supply agreements, service-level expectationsEnsure compliance with legal, commercial, and operational standards.Mitigate supply chain and geopolitical risks through multi-sourcing, inventory planning, and long-term strategy.Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work with Data Center Engineering to translate technical requirements into project specific procurement specifications.Coordinate with Construction & Planning teams to align delivery schedules with build milestones.Partner with Cost & Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.Execution & Supply Chain Management
Oversee purchase order execution, logistics coordination, and delivery performance.Identify and resolve supply disruptions, long‑lead constraints, and material shortages.Monitor global supply chain trends (metals, electronics, energy, logistics) and adjust strategies accordingly.People Leadership

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Master's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 5+ years experience in data science/analytics, finance, project management, supply chain, and/or operation OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 7+ years experience in data science/analytics, finance, project management, supply chain, and/or operation OR equivalent experience.Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Additional or preferred qualifications
Master's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 12+ years experience in data science/analytics, finance, project management, supply chain, and/or operation OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 15+ years experience in data science/analytics, finance, project management, supply chain, and/or operation OR equivalent experience. 5+ years people management experience.#COICareers and #EPCCareers
Sourcing and Category Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
