Description

Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft’s expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission. SCHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Teams, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide and we are looking for passionate, high energy engineers and Program Managers to help achieve that mission.

The SPACE Team within SCHIE, develops advanced analytical and tooling solutions to support and improve the quality of Microsoft Azure. We collect and analyze data across the full Azure stack, HW & SW components, Silicon development processes, and much more. We also have a focus of developing and implementing advanced AI solutions across SPACE in order to improve quality, security and productivity/throughput.

We are seeking a Director of Progam Management to joing our team!

Recruit, hire, and manage top talent to build high-performing, cross-functional teamsDefine and drive project and team vision aligned with strategic business objectives

Establish and implement standards, processes, and best practices across teams

Evaluate ROI and prioritize work based on business value and impact

Lead collaboration with internal teams and external partners to deliver results

Track, report, and communicate progress on key initiatives and deliverables

Coordinate the scheduling, testing, tracking, and deployment of software tools supporting hardware manufacturing and fleet operations

Support Lean/Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, reduce cycle times, and streamline operations

Translate customer and business requirements into actionable project plans

Solve complex problems using data-driven, analytical approaches and sound judgment

Manage risks, dependencies, and project uncertainties with proactive planning and mitigation

Apply KPIs and performance metrics to measure success and guide decisions

Influence stakeholders and align teams through negotiation and communication

Manage programs across the full product lifecycle, including both hardware and software

Ensure project quality through effective quality assurance processes and risk analysis

Communicate technical concepts and project specifications clearly to diverse audiences



Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.4+ years people management experience.3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.3+ years of leadership experience overseeing both software development and hardware engineering teams.Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or preferred qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.4+ years people management experience.8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos)Technical Program Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
