As the Director of AI-Era Skilling Transformation you will lead the disruption of skilling into a dynamic, AI-powered, in-flow experience that meets the evolving demands of work. This role is central to operationalizing our vision to Work to Skill via Agentic enabled Work Embedded Skilling - a new SaaS category that enables real-time, personalized, and scalable development across the enterprise.

The Director, AI-Era Skilling Transformation, is a pivotal role focused on disrupting how Microsoft’s global workforce builds and evolves future-ready skilling. This role exists to deliver transformative skilling experiences that intrinsically motivate individuals and teams to skill through exploration, demonstration, and real-world experiences. You’ll collaborate across Academies, Engineering, Human Resources, Data Analytics, and global learning partners, applying Agile methodology to provide input into strategy, define success metrics, and deliver solutions that build critical skills with measurement, confidence and clarity.

Thought Leadership:  Champion the shift from episodic learning to continuous, AI-augmented skilling embedded directly into the flow of work through business aligned co creation.  Advance foresight practices ensuring anticipatory and proactive approaches to identifying, pursuing and building skills while building systems that keep content, modalities and feedback up to date and relevant to end users. Portfolio Development, Management and Evolution:  Develop, manage and evolve a comprehensive portfolio of agentic enabled and infused skilling experiences meeting the on-going needs of Microsoft’s organizations, teams and individuals to skill at the pace and scale of change.  Adult learning and neuroscience expertise is expected to drive high quality end user experiences, while innovating at speed to skilling revolution. Innovation & Productization: Collaborate and co-create on the design and deployment of intelligent skilling agents powered by Microsoft Copilot. Define and scale new learning experiences that triple upskilling speed and halve time-to-competency. Cross-Functional Collaboration:  Partner with Academies Engineering, HR, Product, and Business stakeholders to integrate skilling into workflows, tools, and platforms. Ensure co-creation and business centricity with business outcomes aligned to measurable talent strategies.  Motivation and Completion: Design and deliver skilling solutions that intrinsically motivate individuals, teams and organizations to pursue skilling as a necessary investment in themselves and their profession.  Successful user experiences will deliver high completion of skilling, with measurable impact and low dropout rates.  Data-Driven Impact:  Leverage deep telemetry and AI insights to measure and optimize skilling effectiveness. Use data to dynamically inform talent decisions with shifting business needs and drive measurable performance outcomes.  Connections to Projects and Job  Partner with colleagues in the career and development space to ensure necessary connections for end users across career, job, skilling and learning experiences. Change Management & Adoption:  Build trust and engagement across the workforce by anticipating AI-skilling adoption needs and barriers.   Other Embody our culture and values

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree or equivalent AND/OR 5+ years experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, quota management, human resources (HR), customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management OR Vocational qualification or higher education degree (e.g., Bachelor's Degree) AND/OR 7+ years experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, HR, customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management OR equivalent experience.3+ years of experience leading skilling at scale in customer facing organizations.  3+ years of experience leading AI transformations in large business and functional organizations. 

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in leveraging agentic infrastructures to deliver individual and team business aligned value.  3+ year of experience leading AI first enterprise-wide learning or skilling transformations.  3+ years of experience having strategic thought leadership, design, creation, measurement and feedback loop life cycles in product design and delivery for impeccable end user experiences Deep understanding of learning science, digital skilling platforms, and AI applications in workforce development.  Fluent in influencing highly matrixed organizations to get co create, align and execute Demonstrated success in building scalable, data-informed skilling ecosystems.  Experience delivering measurable business outcomes in skilling and AI initiatives, including time-to-competency reduction.  Passion for empowering all people through technology and a commitment to inclusive, human-centered design.  Role models usage of latest technology to make self and others more effective and efficient Personal usage of AI and agents for high performance.  Followership as a leader in an organization, committed to teamwork, mentorship and inclusive work experience

Integrated Learning IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
