Description

We’re seeking a bold, agile Director of Advertising to lead the charge into our next chapter of global brand and business growth at Microsoft on our Global Campaigns team. This is an opportunity to shape one of the world’s most iconic brands through innovative thinking, creative excellence, and strategic leadership.

You’ll define and drive integrated, insight-led advertising strategies that fuel understanding, affinity, and measurable campaign results across our portfolio. From helping set creative vision to leading planning, production, execution across global markets and channels, you’ll bring rigor, originality, and precision to every phase of the work.

You’ll inspire cross-functional teams and manage high-value partnerships—internally and externally—ensuring creative ambition is matched with flawless execution. You’ll champion innovation across the process, from campaign development to production, embedding new technologies to unlock efficiencies and elevate outcomes.

Set the vision and drive execution for integrated advertising campaigns—leading planning, stakeholder alignment, creative development, and performance optimization across global markets.Translate complex business and product strategies into bold, insight-driven creative platforms that fuel growth and brand relevance while leveraging AI-driven capabilities for greater impact.Serve as a senior partner with product marketing and key strategic business partners—ensuring deep product fluency, strategic clarity, and tight integration between product, business goals, and creative execution.Shape content strategy through upstream integration of social trends, signal-based learnings, and behavioral insights—translating data into actionable direction for creative refinement and campaign evolution, reimagining through AI-driven capabilities. Lead cross-functional alignment across media, measurement, and creative— to ensure strategic alignment through key requirements and deliveries are understood and clearly communicated across team while helping turn analytics into insights and audience intelligence into campaign strategy and executional best practices. Act as a connective tissue across leadership, ensuring senior stakeholders remain aligned, informed, and invested at every phase of the campaign lifecycle.Inspire and elevate creative creation, guiding work from concept through execution while navigating nuanced feedback and high-volume, multi-market production to reach targeted audiences with relevant output.Oversee orchestration of campaign delivery across all media channels.Forge and manage high-impact relationships with external agencies and internal partners, setting a high bar for creative excellence and operational rigor.Lead flexible resourcing strategies, including oversight of freelance and contingent talent, to support dynamic campaign and production needs.Embody our Culture and Values



Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or related field AND 6+ years experience in advertising or marketing on the client or agency side OR equivalent experience.8+ years advertising campaign creation or management experience and/or digital marketing experience.5+ years experience in quantitative and qualitative advertising or marketing measurement.Experience in integrated advertising strategy, from upstream planning through execution—balancing brand, product, and performance objectives.Experience translating real-time analytics and performance data into actionable insights that shape strategy and drive creative optimization.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Business, Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or related field AND 8+ years experience in media, marketing, social marketing, or advertising on the client or agency side.7+ years of marketing or advertising experience in a global company either client or agency side.Experience in managing marketing partner relationships and driving co-marketing efforts together.Advertising IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
