The Revenue Management team within Microsoft Advertising is helping to power the monetization engine for Microsoft’s and third-party publishers’ online search & native, and AI services. We have a broad responsibility across business planning, forecasting, demand analytics, performance management including delivering operational insights, and monetization efforts all of which are critical to ensuring the long-term health of our advertising platform. We work with groups across engineering, product and sales on driving growth initiatives and monetization improvements to our platform to help better enable our publishers and advertisers. The team is responsible for developing advanced techniques to turn data into insights; and to drive actions based on those insights end to end. Microsoft Advertising is seeking a Director of Marketplace Analytics within the Revenue Management organization to lead a global multi-functional team with the mission to help drive revenue growth through analysis, insights and opportunity identification. This role will lead a team that focuses on demand and supply related analysis across both Microsoft's Advertiser Network as well as Owned & Operated and third party partnerships. This leader will be an exceptional coach who leads with calm urgency, rigor, empathy, and the ability to balance between leading strategically while leveraging quantitative and data led techniques produced by the team. The ideal candidate will be a power collaborator and influencer with a solid dot-connecting ability working across teams with varying skillsets and vertically through the organization.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50 - mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

Deliver revenue, ExTAC, and cost management goals across portfolio of solutions – while this is not a sales role, all leaders are accountable to these goals.Generate actionable insights to improve the search advertising platform, increasing both long-term revenue and relevance.Deep analysis and actionable insights with respect to our ad delivery systems and auction mechanics product changes, with a particular focus on advertising demand and publisher supply.Assist with monetization initiatives end to end by partnering across engineering, sales, and marketing through ideation, creation, and execution of sales programs.Help with the development of Rhythm of Business (ROB) reporting and understanding of business drivers for exec reporting.Provide planning inputs to assist with short to long-term revenue forecasts that incorporate the business strategy as well as economic and competitive influences.Be a Strategic Advisor: Provide thought leadership, advice, influence and insight to partners across other teams.Develop and lead executive level presentations on monetization focused projects.Lead project work streams with limited oversight.Embody and promote Microsoft’s culture and values.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.1+ years people management experience.3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects. Additional or preferred qualificationsBachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.4+ years people management experience.8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).Demonstrated cross functional leadership managing a team of analysts. Solid analytical skills and technical background combined with keen business acumen.Ability to work with large data sets, obtain information, identify trends, and lead solutions to complex problems.Entrepreneurial attitude with a track-record of driving action and resultsDetail oriented & thorough, with ability to understand and identify the key trends and levers that drive the business.Excellent story-teller with a solid ability to explain complex data and analysis with simplicity and clarity.Keen ability to spot outliers in data, the persistence to find what the cause is and drive to understand the unknown.Solid ability to apply abstract theory and expertise to solve real-world problems.Hands-on approach to data analysis with a solid focus on accuracy and quality. Self-starter with proven record of working independently and collaboratively in a demanding interdisciplinary team environment.Understanding of the Paid Search ecosystem.

Technical Program Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
