Description

The Global Partner Solutions (GPS) team is a sales organization accountable for the commercial partner business at Microsoft, and the mission is to build and sell Microsoft Cloud applications, services and devices with partners, empowering people, and organizations to achieve more.

  

Our mission for our Scale Solution partner (SSP) organization is to continue the ongoing transformation and evolution of our partners to deliver solutions and services at-scale for our SME&C business. We have a focused intensity on unleashing growth with our top SSP partners, transforming services and evolving capabilities across our key commercial solution areas.  

The Director, Global Partner Development Manager (PDM) role is responsible for accelerating our partners’ transformation to deliver Microsoft Cloud solutions and driving partner performance around our key metrics. You will be responsible for building and developing executive relationships across the partner and various Microsoft organizations. You will design and deliver Partner Business Plans that define the partner strategy in alignment with their business goals and our key strategies. You will bring your tenacious work ethic, your enthusiasm, optimism, and your passion to foster profound growth and change within our channel partner ecosystem. You will leverage your challenger mindset, deep technology industry knowledge, market insights, understanding of the competitive landscape, and executive presence to empower our partners to deliver greater value for our customers.

You will work with your partner’s and Microsoft regional teams to land the sales strategy and drive co-selling motions and will sponsor executive connections, drive business performance and maximize partner investments. You will institute a predictable rhythm with your partner in conjunction with the regional teams to drive sales execution.

Partner leadership, strategy and optimization: You will establish and drive long-term partner strategies, grow the business and anticipate or fill market opportunities. You will foster deep relationships with key Microsoft and partner stakeholders and sales units. Partner Business Performance and Sales Leadership: With a performance mindset, you will act as sales manager and coach implementation of sales processes, following Microsoft internal sales methodology and tools. In close collaboration with counterparts, you will maintain a rhythm of business to ensure sales execution with your partner. You will coach teams through resolving blockers to accelerate performance and institute Correction of Errors plans to address low performance. Market Insight and Business Opportunity: You will lead and challenge your partner to identify high-level opportunities to pursue, incorporating your expertise, market insights and depth knowledge of the competitive landscape. Executive Relationship Building: You will serve as a though leader and trusted advisor to your partner and have a proven history of building and implementing business and sales strategies. Business Planning: Create strategic business objectives and partnership plans, coordinate partner prioritization and growth, ability to set clear goals/timelines for the business to achieve or exceed on targets and drive execution against agreed plans. You must demonstrate the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Lead performance management by setting clear goals, monitoring progress, conducting reviews, and addressing underperformance through correction plans, while excelling in negotiation and conflict resolution to align individual and company objectives through collaborative solutions.OtherEmbody our Culture and Values



Qualifications

Required/Minimum qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Operations, Computer Science or a related field AND 8+ years experience in partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry or related experience OR equivalent experience.Experience in cloud solutions sales, having sold to customers and developed long-term relationships in the market working with and through partners.  Additional or Preferred qualifications6+ years experience in partner management, sales, business development, and/or partner channel development in the technology industry or related experience Strategic leadership experience, including problem solving, planning, organizing and coordination, cross-group collaboration, executive maturity. Industry, channel, and competitive knowledge including market trends and best practices, understanding of Microsoft's business, product, and technical strategies, and proven cross-group project leadership and management skills.  Solution or Services Sales BackgroundPartner Development Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,000 - $222,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $170,300 - $239,800 per year.
