OverviewThe Executive Security Advisor, reporting to the President Global Enterprise Sales (GES), is looking for a Director of Communications to lead a specified portfolio of communications programs strategy, development, and execution. The mission of the Global Enterprise Sales organization is to drive growth and long‑term customer value by helping Microsoft’s largest and most strategic enterprise customers realize their ambitions through Microsoft’s technology—especially cloud and AI—while operating the commercial business at scale.
In the Communication role for the Executive Security Advisor, you will lead, source, draft, and edit a variety of written content including narratives, presentations, email updates, articles, and other materials on behalf of the Executive Security Advisor, working collaboratively with stakeholders, collating inputs, and creating deliverables.
This content will be persuasive, punchy, interesting, and accurate, often drafted and completed in situations where speed and ability to operate amidst ambiguity and uncertainty are essential. You will combine an ability to craft eye-catching content with clear communication and will be someone who can turn a throwaway line into a substantial piece of work. Proactive, creative, and flexible, your default is a can-do attitude to any challenge. This is a highly visible role that interacts with business partners and leaders at various levels across Microsoft, requiring a high level of emotional intelligence and maturity, and the ability to demonstrate thought leadership in contributing to overall business goals, objectives, and strategies, as well as short- and long-term business priorities.

Responsibilities
Drives strategy, planning, and execution, focusing on Executive Security Advisor executive communications. Enhances executive profile to strengthen Microsoft's position as a trusted partner in cybersecurity.Creates narratives and messaging frameworks that drive executive content development and deployment. Collaborates across teams to develop and drive storytelling opportunities. Leverages expertise to determine what format is most appropriate and meaningful for a story and target audience(s).Creates ideas for and develops collateral materials (e.g., decks, blog posts, talking points) for use in a range of initiatives and engagement opportunities. Understands how audience is being addressed by others and the appropriateness of formats (e.g., executive meetings, events, web content, core materials for field) for one-to-one (1:1) and one-to-many (1:many) engagements.Conceptualizes and develops content to educate, guide, and advise internal stakeholders, customers, and partners on approach and tactics.Monitors, tracks, and analyzes the impact of and responses to messaging for a given issue. Creates responsive materials as needed. Engages others appropriately in responsive efforts. Leverages insights to inform data-driven proactive approaches.Collaborates with executives by coaching and preparing them for external speaking opportunities or other outlets of communication. Collaborates with communications and marketing colleagues to ensure consistency of One Microsoft messaging of executives.Identifies, develops, and implements measures to evaluate effectiveness and to iterate as content, platforms, and desired outcomes evolve. Required/minimum qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years communications, marketing operations, field operations, program management, project management, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
Preferred qualifications:
Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years communications, marketing operations, field operations, program management, project management, or related experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 12+ years communications, marketing operations, field operations, program management, project management, or related experience OR equivalent experience.4+ years specialized functional (e.g. technology, Cybersecurity) experience.6+ years experience supporting senior executives in an executive communications role.3+ years experience working with social media platforms.
Communications IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
