Description
We are seeking a strategic hands-on Director, Executive Communications to lead executive communications for the CEO of Microsoft Gaming. You will serve as the principal architect and trusted advisor for all aspects of the CEO’s executive communications. This highly visible role is responsible for shaping and amplifying the CEO’s voice to advance Microsoft Gaming’s business objectives, culture, and reputation—internally with employees and leadership, and externally through thought leadership moments.You will develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that inspires and informs employees, aligns leadership, and continuously positions Microsoft as a global leader in gaming and innovation, always with a focus on driving business outcomes.

CEO Voice Stewardship: Own, evolve, and protect the executive voice of the CEO across all internal and external channels, ensuring authenticity, consistency, and alignment with Microsoft’s mission and Gaming’s business priorities. Strategic Narrative Development: Craft storylines aligned to messaging priorities for CEO speeches, internal broadcasts, and global events that reinforce business priorities, culture, and vision. Social Media Strategy: Lead CEO social presence across appropriate social channels and emerging platforms. Partner with social teams, agencies and employee advocacy programs to amplify impact. Internal Communications Leadership: Develop and deliver clear, compelling messaging for CEO company-wide announcements and strategic initiatives to engage and align employees across teams. Business-Focused Thought Leadership: Further the CEO as a leading voice in gaming and technology through speaking engagements and industry forums that directly support Microsoft Gaming’s business strategy and growth. Creative Storytelling: Develop innovative formats -- short-form video, interactive content, podcasts, and/or yet-to-be-imagined platforms-- to communicate Gaming’s momentum, culture, and strategic priorities. Change Management Communications: Serve as CEO and leadership advisor during moments of Gaming changes. Stakeholder Engagement: Partner closely with Gaming communicators, external communications teams, Microsoft colleagues, agencies and beyond to ensure CEO messaging is aligned, effective, and business-driving. Measurement & Impact: Establish metrics to assess the effectiveness of CEO communications and thought leadership in advancing business goals. Embody our Culture & Values
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience OR equivalent experience.6+ years C-level executive communications, internal communications, or strategic storytelling for leaders at global organizations. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting a CEO or equivalent, ideally in technology, gaming, or entertainment. Writing, editing, social, and strategic messaging skills with a portfolio of CEO-level communications. Expertise in business-focused communications, reputation management, and employee engagement.Project management, cross-team collaboration, and confident executive presence. Understanding of the gaming industry and Microsoft’s global business impact. Experience working directly with or for Microsoft or other Fortune 100 companies. Familiarity with AI tools for content creation and measurement. Background in journalism, business communications, or organizational change management. Communications IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
