Description

Microsoft’s Office of Strategy and Transformation (OS&T) is looking for a Senior Director, Continuous Improvement to lead transformation efforts across Microsoft that will shape Microsoft’s journey to becoming a Frontier Firm.

This role plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of operational excellence at Microsoft. As a member of our Continuous Improvement team, you will be instrumental in building and deploying innovative tools and methodologies that streamline workflows and drive efficiencies. You’ll also be at the forefront of integrating AI to enhance processes and accelerate business outcomes. As a Senior Director, Continuous Improvement you will develop deep expertise in continuous improvement strategies and AI applications. You will build leadership skills as you engage, influence, and drive momentum with senior leaders and across the organization. You will deliver measurable impact by collaborating across the organization, opening the door to significant career growth opportunities and advancement. This position is based in Redmond, with limited travel as needed to achieve business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Reimagine and redesign enterprise workflows that cross organizational boundaries to deliver material improvements in quality, delivery, and business performance. Scope and lead enterprise-level improvement initiatives, defining the work, aligning stakeholders, and orchestrating cross-functional squads to deliver outcomes at pace. Establish clarity and operational rigor by translating strategic priorities into clear execution plans, measurable performance goals, and disciplined operating rhythms. Identify and remove barriers to progress, ensuring accountability, enabling decision-making, and maintaining momentum across complex organizational boundaries. Use data and insight to focus action, measure progress, and continuously refine designs to sustain and scale improvements. Drive change leadership, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement that accelerates impact. Lead and develop team members, coaching others to think critically, operate systemically, and deliver results that matter. Embody our Culture and Values in all work.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 6+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience OR Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 4+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience OR equivalent experience 3+ years of experience and proficiency in process improvement and design3+ years of experience applying rigorous critical thinking to breakdown complex processes to identify improvement opportunities3+ years of experience leading, facilitating, and influencing cross-functional teams Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 15+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience (e.g., data analytics) OR Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 12+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience (e.g., data analytics) Lean, Business Process Management Professional, Change Management (e.g., Prosci), Six Sigma, and/or Agile certifications Proven track record of leading successful kaizen / improvement events that produce measurable business outcomes and sustainmentProcess Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
