Description

The Device Partner Sales (DPS) organization works with ecosystem partners to build, market, and sell a winning portfolio that delights customers and earns fans around the world. Within DPS the Licensing, Incentives, Genuine & Experiences Teams (LIG&E) mission is to:Plan and orchestrate investment programs to direct partner activities toward joint objectivesEnable partners to transact with clear and comprehensive solutions licensing and business policyBuild, securely operate, and optimize capabilities to enable DPS to operate and protect DPS revenue.Scale processes to optimize the DPS operating model.Develop new capabilities to enable DPS to capture future growth opportunities.The LIG&E Team is looking for a Director, Business Strategy and Operations in the Device Partner Sales, Windows Genuine team. The role is a business transformation role tasked with transforming our Windows genuine strategy and landing the strategy across Microsoft organizations and with our DPS ecosystem partners. In this role you will be accountable for leading multiple planning and design workstreams in close partnership with Windows Engineering, Microsoft Security, DPS Sales, Global Partner Solutions (GPS), Business Planning, Finance, Microsoft Business Operations, and Microsoft Legal to define and execute the next version of our Genuine strategy to protect and grow DPS revenue and support customer security on Windows.The role is primarily focused on the genuine strategy with the opportunity to lead other business transformation initiatives to enable the DPS business and our goals for growth.

Key deliverables for the role include Genuine Strategy Whitepaper and Pitch Deck, engineering Business Requirements Documentation (BRD), partner governance policy and monitoring process, Genuine Playbook for Microsoft sellers, Customer Education Campaigns (consumer, commercial, education customers), non-genuine containment engines redesign and prioritization, fiscal year budget planning and operating efficiency.Lead left to right analysis of genuine engines in place today considering scope and effectiveness against current and evolving non-genuine challenges across customer segments and markets including geo specific scenarios.Actively engage across Microsoft internal and partner stakeholders to understand emerging non-genuine trends and insights including sourcing and analyzing scale data to identify risks and opportunities that will inform build out of the Genuine strategy.Be the connector that brings others along working across Microsoft organizations, both corporate and regional teams, to build and drive a multi-faceted genuine strategy and business plan encompassing Windows product experiences, Microsoft platform enhancements, customer education on value of Windows security and risks of non-genuine, incorporation of genuine into Microsoft seller playbooks, x-GPS partner governance, integration of data and Microsoft AI technology into genuine strategy and scale.Lead multiple planning and design workstreams across Microsoft Engineering, Security, Partners, Sales, Operations and Legal teams to build the genuine strategy and detailed plan, phases and timeline on what we need to execute and how we execute.Direction and oversight across organizations we partner with to ensure delivery of the product and platform engineering required to land and execute the genuine strategy.Program manage strategy through to detailed plan, communications and execution, including change management.Gain cross organizations leader sponsorship for the genuine strategy and commitment to execution plan including resourcing, engineering prioritization, and integration of the genuine strategy into Microsoft sellers playbooks, partner and customer engagements.Stay connected to Microsoft Legal on evolving regulatory requirements that inform genuine strategy and approach over timeLead evolution of strategy collecting regular feedback from Microsoft sales and marketing teams in the field and from device and channel partners to stay on top of all emerging trends and threats.Continuous monitoring for effectiveness, course correction, next cycle planningFunction as a trusted advisor to DPS and GPS organizations on genuine strategy and enforcement.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 8+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvementOR equivalent experienceExperience in technology industry or equivalent industry bringing products or solutions to market Additional or Preferred Qualifications
10+ years in technology industry/company bringing products or solutions to market with a background in large-scale, multi-year program management3+ years in team or business leadership experience; proven capabilities to lead high impact, complex initiativesStrategy development with multi-phase execution and deliveryFamiliarity with Microsoft technology and programs or experience working in or with Microsoft partnersProficient verbal and written communication and presentation skillsExperience in engaging with leadership and influencing decisions"Passion for leading and enabling the functional teams we work with to deliver what we need for the DPS business and be results-focused connectors for DPS to deliver revenue growth.
Business Program Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $273,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $299,400 per year.
