With a vision to "Build and sell Microsoft AI, Cloud applications, and services, with partners, empowering people and organizations to achieve more," Small Medium Enterprises and Channel (SME&C) Global Channel Partner Sales (GCPS) is responsible for driving revenue outcomes with partners through innovative solutions–at scale.As a Director, Business Program Manager, you will launch and scale new co-sell capabilities leveraging AI and agents, activate AI-powered go-to-market (GTM) motions, and align Marketplace investments with Microsoft’s broader AI strategy. You’ll use a consultant-like, data-driven approach to be an industry leader in digital commerce and partner innovation aligned with GCPS priorities. You’ll orchestrate cross-functional execution across business groups, champion stakeholder success, and embed compliance and regulatory integrity into every program you lead.
The Director, Business Program Manager performs non-technical project completion using an internal customer perspective, typically from initiation through delivery. Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams through meetings and progress measurement activities which bring distinct, specific projects to completion both on time and within budget. This role has project management responsibility and no direct reports. This job manages specific projects that have a distinct beginning and end. This role acts as a trusted advisor to management, leadership, and to internal Microsoft and external partners, driving clarity and impact across your team. The role puts partners first, leveraging best practices and training that deliver results on time and on budget.

Effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to create project plans aligned with business objectives, setting success criteria and performance metrics using data to demonstrate impact. Lead communication plans, advocate complex programs, manage requirements, and ensure effective project execution and risk mitigation. Oversee project portfolios, manage finances, and communicate updates and risks to stakeholders. Collaboration with other teams ensures efficient program processes and change management strategies. In Business Program Evaluation and Improvement, the role conducts cost-benefit analyses, evaluates performance metrics, and optimizes programs through data analytics. Leverage change management methodologies to help stakeholders adapt and adopt to changes while influencing organizational initiatives, developing change management strategies and ensure stakeholder buy-in. Contribute to training and reskilling efforts in collaboration with Human Resources. Qualifications
Required/minimum qualificationsBachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvementOR equivalent experience.6+ years of strategic program and/or project management experience in a technology organization, working across global stakeholders, multiple functions, and complex interdependencies, or related experience.4+ years of experience leading cross-functional programsAdditional or preferred qualifications 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional programs, ideally in a two-sided marketplace or platform environmentExperience in commercial marketplace operations, including partner onboarding, offer management, and transaction enablementAbility to interpret marketplace analytics, dashboards and performance metrics to guide business decisionsDemonstrated ability to develop and execute go-to-market strategies, especially in regulated environments Proven track record in complex program management, change management, delivering business value. Understanding of Microsoft's strategy, products, services, and culture Skilled in cross-group collaboration, negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution abilities and experience in process optimization and understanding desired business outcomes Regulatory Acumen: Familiarity with payment services regulations and licensing requirements (e.g., Energy Metering Interface (EMI) license under PSD3/PSR).Cross-Org Influence: Ability to collaborate across engineering, legal, finance, and partner teams to drive marketplace transformation.Global Perspective: Experience working with international teams and navigating regional compliance challenges (e.g., European Economic Area (EEA), Ireland-based regulatory compliance (RegCo) setup.
Business Program Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
