As a Solution Engineer – Workforce AI & Security, you will guide customers through the evolving digital landscape, enabling them to unlock new opportunities, enhance productivity, and deliver exceptional employee and customer experiences. You will work on cutting-edge projects leveraging the latest technologies in AI and security, driving meaningful impact and helping organizations realize seamless, innovative, and secure solutions.
This role offers flexibility to focus on Workforce AI, on Security, or both, depending on your expertise. You will collaborate with startups, venture capital firms, ISVs, and high growth enterprise customers, contributing to their success and helping make the world a safer, more productive place.
Responsibilities
Drive technical sales with decision makers using demos and proof-of-concepts to influence solution design and enable production deployments.
Lead hands-on engagements—hackathons, code-with sessions, architecture workshops—to accelerate adoption of Microsoft’s developer tools, cloud platforms, and AI productivity solutions.
Build trusted relationships with developers and platform leads, co-designing secure, scalable architectures and solutions.
Guide customers through envisioning sessions, aligning business goals and technical requirements for Workforce AI and Security solutions.
Resolve technical blockers and objections, collaborating with engineering and product teams to share insights and improve products.
Maintain deep technical understanding of cloud security architectures, AI productivity tools, and Microsoft technologies including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio & Agents, M365 Defender, Defender for Cloud, and Sentinel.
Develop strategies and recommendations to improve client security posture and drive AI transformation, shaping technical win plans and tailoring Microsoft messaging for security and productivity opportunities.
Represent Microsoft through thought leadership in developer communities and customer forums.
Collaborate with partners by sharing Microsoft training resources and supporting joint technical activities.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ year(s) technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
OR Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
OR 5+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
OR equivalent experience. Other Requirements

Additional or Preferred Qualifications
6+ years technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
4+ years experience with cloud and hybrid, or on-premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.
Certification in relevant technologies or disciplines (e.g., Office 365, Power BI, Azure Architect and Development exams, Cloud Platform Technologies, Information Security, Architecture).
Experience with developing and delivering customer demos/proof of concepts for productivity, collaboration, and security-centric solutions across competitive offerings.
Expertise in Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Agents, M365 Defender, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, and other Modern Work or Productivity Platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack).
Solution Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.

Solution Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
