Our group has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Designer - Microsoft Health to join the User Experience team. This team is leads the concepting of first party solutions and applications for health system clients powered by Microsoft AI, including Dragon Copilot, Powerscribe and more.

As a Principal Designer - Microsoft Health, you will:

Define specific product needs based on user insightsCreatively define solutions to meet user needs, and,Create and develop design concepts and specifications that optimize the emotional and functional experience of a product, software, device, or service. This opportunity will allow you to focus on end-to-end user experiences, empathizing and balancing experiences with business and technical tradeoffs. You will produce designs from concept through delivery and sustainment, support interaction designs for hardware and/or software-based experiences, and partner with internal and external development teams, marketing and design groups to research and analyze customer feedback for incorporation into product enhancements, new product designs and overall design language and strategy.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

Deliver world-class interaction designs end-to-end from incubation through to shipping product.Help organize and drive design collaboration (sprints, ideations, brainstorms) with cross-discipline partners (PM, Engineering, Research and Data Science). Collaborate with Design and Engineering partners to align and deliver a crafted product vision end-to-end. Create clarity and generate energy for your product and product teams through powerful storytelling.Stay current on design trends, technologies, and tools, and incorporate them into the design team's work as appropriate.Interact with Engineering and perform QAs to ensure quality while showing the ability to challenge design limitations. You’ll also produce visual designs and mentor others on their creation.Create wireframes, journey maps, and other elements to support interaction design. You’ll also begin to lead product UX improvements by creating interaction models while acting as a liaison between users and products.

Communicate with cross-disciplinary teams across all stages of design and development. You will also tell a compelling, convincing product story to a specific audience.

Work with creative team members, program managers, and developers to define product features. You’ll collaborate with your team to deliver product design results while also providing guidance to product designers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:

Product Design IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
