Microsoft's Content Services specializes in building personalized and engaging content around news, shopping, sports, weather, and finance that can scale to 1B+ Microsoft users on desktop and mobile.

Our Edge Shopping team is looking for a talented Senior Data & Applied Scientist with a background in Machine Learning, Data Science, Data Mining, or related fields to support our Edge browser work, to enable our millions of users daily to save billions of dollars as they shop.

Candidates should be passionate about artificial intelligence and optimization at web scale. They will play a key role in driving algorithmic improvements to online and offline systems, develop and deliver robust and scalable solutions for Edge browser and Edge shopping features.

Build models and pipelines for Edge shopping intelligence features to bring more savings to the customers in a highly efficient way. Manage the end-to-end process – from designing to implementation, conducting experiments, and deploying cutting-edge algorithms and models. Ensure that machine learning models are scalable to handle the vast user. Conduct rigorous experiments, analyze data, and iterate on models to continuously improve the system.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)OR equivalent experience.2+ years customer-facing, project-delivery experience, professional services, and/or consulting experience.4+ years experience in developing and deploying machine learning models.Proficient experience with C#/C++/Java/Python/Scala or any other Object Oriented Programming skills with knowledge of Data Structures/Algorithms.

Preferred Qualifications

Committed communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment. Have research or work experience, Document understanding Machine Learning systems Experience working through full product cycles from initial design to final product delivery. Experience developing and designing backgrounds in multi-tiered distributed services.

Data Science IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
