In the new era of AI, this manager role within EngOps Data & Applied Sciences team will provide you the opportunity to lead and deliver cutting-edge GenAI and ML solutions that drive specific, measurable, and impactful improvements to key areas of Azure customer experience. Responsibilities

This role demands deep technical innovation and collaboration across various Microsoft divisions and EngOps product and business teams to forge novel methods, tools, and frameworks that deliver highly performant AI capabilities with measurable impact on Customer Experience. The responsibilities will include:

Research new methodologies and consult on technology options for best practices in AI feature delivery across the product portfolioDevelop new predictive and prescriptive models using advanced research techniques with a goal of productionalized solutions. Directs the development of experimental methodologies, statistics, optimization, and probability theory for general purpose software and statistical packages.Design experiments to evaluate the performance and measure the impact of new AI/ML models and product features enabling data-driven decisions for AI feature prioritization and investmentsLead the team to deliver key AI/ML capabilities across EngOps platforms and productsCo-lead the scale motion for the foundational architecture and AI framework with Engineering partnersEnsure compliance to Responsible AI standards throughout the AI & ML system lifecycle

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualificationsDoctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 8+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 10+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 12+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) OR equivalent experience.5+ years people-management experience.Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Data Science M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
