Microsoft's Corporate and External Legal Affairs (CELA) organization has an opportunity in the Infrastructure Legal Affairs team. This is an opportunity to ensure that Microsoft customers worldwide have the necessary cloud and AI infrastructure capacity to meet their needs and enable their AI transformation.

In the role of Principal Corporate Counsel, Infrastructure Legal Affairs, you will be part of a team providing legal advice and counsel to the Cloud Supply Chain Provisioning group in the Azure Hardware and Systems Infrastructure division within Microsoft. Responsibilities

Legal Advice and Counsel

Serve as the primary legal advisor for the Cloud Supply Chain Provisioning group in the Azure Hardware and Systems Infrastructure division.Identify and anticipate highly complex legal and/or other business issues.Serve as a key business partner and advisor to senior executives; at times with the assistance of outside counsel. Manage a wide variety of negotiations and transactions with unique IP and technology issues related to manufacturing and logistics, supply and procurement.Collaborate with specialists in trade, IP, and other CELA partners as needed to escalate and drive decisions.Solution Implementation and Process Improvement

Develop and implement solutions that anticipate and mitigate risks.Manage and develop relationships with outside counsel and clients to create strategic and innovative solutions that address issues and achieve business objectives.Provide feedback and evaluate process improvements including the development and deployment of AI tooling that increase efficiencies.Team Leadership and Management

Support and guide a team of 3 attorneys who primarily support the Cloud Supply Chain Provisioning group in Azure Hardware and Systems Infrastructure division and, where appropriate, also coordinate and work across Infrastructure Legal Affairs.Coach and define objectives and outcomes that enable your team to adapt and grow.Embody our culture and values

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

Juris Doctor Degree or international equivalent degree AND 4+ years experience as a practicing attorneyOR equivalent experience.Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction. Additional or preferred qualificationsJuris Doctor Degree or international equivalent degree AND 5+ years experience as a practicing attorneyOR equivalent experience.3+ years experience as an attorney in specialized practice area (e.g., tax, employment, copyright).1+ year(s) in-house counsel experience.Demonstrated experience advising on cutting-edge technology, including semiconductors. #CELA

Legal Counsel IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $132,200 - $232,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,800 - $248,600 per year.
