Description
The Global Marketing Engines & Experiences (GME&E) team is seeking a culturally fluent Community Engagement Strategist - Creator & Fandom to help shape how Microsoft shows up in culture through creator-driven communities and fandom spaces. This role sits at the intersection of social engagement, creator collaboration, and fan culture — helping to deepen brand affinity through authentic interactions and content-forward community building. The ideal candidate understands how internet culture spreads, thrives in platform-native storytelling environments, and is passionate about building meaningful two-way relationships between brands and audiences. You’ll work across commercial priorities — including Microsoft 365, Azure, and Security — to bring creator and fandom strategies to life through smart engagement tactics and participatory content experiences.Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Support the development and execution of engagement strategies that foster community connection around creators, thought leaders, and fandoms. Monitor social platforms and community spaces for creator-driven trends, conversations, and opportunities to engage. Partner with creator strategists to identify relevant voices and fandom moments where Microsoft can show up credibly and creatively. Write platform-native copy, community responses, and interactive prompts to spark conversation and drive participation. Assist in the planning and execution of social activations that build connection between Microsoft and targeted cultural communities. Track and analyze audience engagement, surfacing insights and learnings to inform future creative and content strategy. Collaborate with cross-functional partners in social, brand, product marketing, and analytics to ensure engagement efforts are aligned and impactful. Help evolve voice, tone, and engagement guidelines for community-led content in partnership with creator and content teams.Embody our Culture and Values
Qualifications
Required/Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 1+ year(s) social media marketing, creator/influencer strategy, community management, or engagement-focused roles or related work experience OR equivalent experience. Experience managing social engagement across multiple platforms.Experience writing for social. Experience with creator ecosystems, internet culture and participatory fandom behaviors.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 3+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related work experience OR equivalent experience. Experience with business to business (B2B) or tech audiences and an ability to translate complex ideas into culture-forward, accessible contentExperience collaborating with creators, social strategists, or influencer marketing teams.Experience using social listening or analytics tools to inform engagement strategy.
Integrated Marketing IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $85,100 - $169,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $112,000 - $185,300 per year.
