Description
The Datacenter Community Affairs team is part of Microsoft’s datacenter organization – Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I). It supports the growth and operations of Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure by creating and managing relationships with local stakeholders, bringing insights and understanding of new communities, developing and implementing community engagement and investment strategies.We are looking for a Community Affairs Program Manager to support the Datacenter Strategy, Engagement and Operations teams. The individual in this role will be responsible for developing collaboration tools, maintaining engagement calendars and resources, coordinating training, managing reports and briefs, as well as supporting global operations.

This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ. Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location. This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 50%. External engagement: creating and maintaining a global calendar of external engagements and events, as well as global calendar for internal strategy workshops. Reporting: consolidating and delivering monthly reports and a monthly engagement newsletter. Support the preparation of materials for internal briefings. Resources: updating and maintaining playbooks, sharepoint and creating a library of best practices. Collaboration: developing tools to increase collaboration across teams and regions, organizing monthly meetings with global community affairs teams and engagement vendors, coordinating an internal training series, etc. Operations: budget management support as well as procurement, including contracts with different vendors globally to support research, content, and engagement.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, or related field AND 4+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement
OR equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience working in community affairs or communications. Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
Experience in the datacenter industry. Advanced expertise in Microsoft Office product suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word. Proficiency in creating and managing Sharepoint and PowerBi resources. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Experience working in a global environment, collaborating with teams in different countries and time zones. Experience with building and nurturing partnerships, collaborate and influence across multiple stakeholders in- and outside of Microsoft and within a team. Skilled at prioritization, creating order and marshalling resources towards achieving a common goal and a drive for results with energy and positive attitude.
Business Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
