As a Senior Communications Manager within the Customer Experience & Success organization, you will lead internal and external storytelling initiatives and events that showcase the impact of Microsoft services and solutions. You will be responsible for crafting compelling narratives and events that elevate customer and employee voices while highlighting CE&S services and solutions in alignment with Microsoft’s brand and business priorities.

This role requires strategic thinking, exceptional storytelling skills, and the ability to manage complex projects across multiple stakeholders and vendors. To be successful, the candidate should have the proven ability to work collaboratively, bring groups together to drive consensus and momentum, and interface with a wide variety of internal stakeholders. They should be successful in building productive working relationships, accommodating various work styles and perspectives and able to take feedback and adapt to constantly changing environments. They are considered a problem solver as they are known to find solutions when others cannot and deliver clarity in ambiguity. The candidate must be a formidable team player who demonstrates drive and initiative, with a passion to deliver to his/her full potential every day. Responsibilities

• Storytelling and Messaging – Lead the development of immersive customer stories that go beyond words - bringing stories to life internally and externally through dynamic video, events, compelling graphics, and written features. Craft messaging and experiences that resonates emotionally and visually, ensuring every story reflects the impact of Microsoft and CE&S on real customer success. Select the most engaging formats - whether short-form social videos, interactive infographics, or long-form editorial - to maximize reach and relevance.

• Communication Strategy and Planning – Develops thought leadership initiatives to form communications strategy and planning. Defines and executes tactics in support of overall strategy, ensuring consistency of voice across messages and channels. Utilizes Artificial Intelligence tools and platforms responsibly to assist in drafting messaging and storyboarding. Participates in business planning discussions as appropriate to build a detailed and proactive calendar of engagements.

• Orchestration and Production Management – Own the end-to-end production of high-impact multimedia content or events—from concept to delivery. Collaborate with creative teams and agencies to produce cinematic customer videos, bold graphics, and interactive digital or live experiences. Drive decisions on format and channel to amplify storytelling, ensuring every asset aligns with Microsoft’s brand standards and elevates customer voices.

• Stakeholder Management and Decision Making- Uses data and insights to identify needed content. Develops content to support education, guidance, and advice to internal stakeholders, customers, and partners on communications strategy and tactics. Develops expertise in stakeholder groups and individuals and leverages that understanding in execution of tasks and decision making. Solicits understanding of perspective, goals, and desired outcomes of stakeholders. Establishes, refines, and manages expectations and priorities. Establishes decision making criteria and principles at outset to drive priorities and expectations. Clarifies roles and responsibilities with others to prevent gaps in delivery. Ensures alignment on strategic intent as foundation for effective delivery and execution. Establishes rhythm of business (e.g., cadence, intent, content to keep stakeholders informed and up to date).

• Key member of the CE&S Executive Communications Team – helping drive impact, business priorities, clarity and effectiveness. Partners with CE&S Executive Communications team to align to the overall communications internal and external strategy for executive leaders aligned to team, business, and organizational objectives, ensuring consistency of voice across messages and channels.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 4+ years communications, marketing operations, field operations, program management, project management, or related experienceOR equivalent experiencePreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years communications, marketing operations, field operations, program management, project management, or related experienceOR equivalent experience.Approximately 8-10 years of Communications experience, and/or in areas of Corporate Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Brand, and/or AgencySolid communications, creative, editorial, project management, and analytics/data measurement skillsExpertise and experience in leading overall communication strategy and end-to-end programmingKnowledge of Microsoft products and the technology industry is strongly preferredCurrent knowledge of leading best practices in Communications, platforms, content, and tooling

Communications IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
