Overview

Microsoft is at the forefront of the AI revolution, and the Copilot extensibility story is central to scaling AI value for customers. This role leads the go-to-market strategy for Copilot Extensibility, spanning 1P/3P Agents, Graph Connectors, Agent templates, Service Level Agreement (SLA)/limits, and monetization strategy. You will design and execute the Agent ecosystem strategy, influence independent software vendor (ISV) roadmaps, and align Agent Store and partner motions with our AI story to expand total addressable market (TAM) penetration and revenue. You will partner closely with AI Business Solutions (AI BP), Cloud and AI Platforms, and cross-commercial solution area (CSA) teams to drive adoption and value.

As a Senior Business Strategy Manager for M365 Copilot Extensibility, you will be accountable to develop and deliver the Sales strategy through a plan that will enable the field to achieve the company goals, in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders. Partnering with leadership in Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Finance. In this role, you will be a visible advocate for the field and will be counted on to represent the voice of customers across our corporate function leaders.

Responsibilities

GTM Strategy Plan Leadership for M365 Copilot Extensibility

Lead the end‑to‑end annual Extensibility Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy plan aligned to M365 Copilot, defining monetization and adoption goals, customer outcomes, feedback loops, program development, and translate strategy into execution with field Sellers, Global Black Belts, and GTM Managers through disciplined field orchestration that leads to exceed company goals for Agents and connectors. This includes our full stack of 1P, 3P extensibility offerings and Agentic control system to lead the market in development and adoption of business process transformation workstreams. Partner across Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) AI Business Solutions, Product, Business Planning, Marketing, and adjacent teams to include peripheral extensibility GTM that drive consistency and clarity around our monetization strategy, SLAs, usage limits, customer needs, demo assets that showcase differentiated agentic value, with the objective of expanding Extensibility revenue and Agents monthly active users (MAU) penetration, increasing agent attach, and simplifying field delivery of Business-to-Employee Experience agentic solutions.Demonstrate proactive thought leadership to drive rapid adoption of Extensibility solutions, anticipating and resolving complex barriers to customer success. Initiate and lead cross-functional improvement programs spanning product roadmaps, project planning, business strategy, and monetization. Effectively manage GTM escalations and champion the voice of the customer, ensuring engineering priorities are aligned with market needs and opportunities.

Design & land the 1P/3P Agent Execution Strategy

Lead the design and landing of the 1P/3P Agent Execution Strategy, acting as a subject matter expert to define and optimize field execution across our field operating model (Microsoft Commercial Execution Model). This includes building an orchestration playbook, managing and adjusting plans to deliver business outcomes, optimize seller engagement with the OneMicrosoft Team Account Team Unit (ATU) and Customer Success Unit (CSU), and driving continuous improvement through structured feedback loops with product marketing and engineering. Design and Coach sellers on the Agentic sales journey that leverage Microsoft’s full resources, enabling targeted motions for high-propensity accounts. To accelerate total addressable market (TAU) penetration, launch proactive initiatives such as functional templates, pre-built workflows, and co-sell plays, while iterating on starter kits to reduce time-to-value and increase win rates. Ensure adoption and scalability via the creation of a continuous improvement loop to increase impact across the ecosystem.

Sales Insights, Readiness, and Activation

Captures and provides Voice of Customer, Field and Partner insights into the rhythm of the business, acts as a business conduit to broader internal and external stakeholders and adjusts plans when required to exceed business outcomes. Provide support for success measurements based on data from tools and platforms. Communicates with field sales on business updates and plans within multiple regions. Share best practices with peers.Collaborates with key stakeholders across Microsoft (e.g. Sales, Enablement & Operations [SE&O], Go to Market [GTM], Global Partner Sales [GPS] and Customer Success Unit [CSU], etc. to maintain fresh the intelligence tools needed to manage the business effectively by providing field visibility into Extensibility top line indicators that signal business health, and leverages insights to develop recommendations (e.g., sales trend identification, implications of competitor moves, solution area gaps) around potential future growth opportunities and strategic issues for Microsoft sales processes. Creates frameworks and methodologies to drive problem solving and insights.Partners with Inbound Business Architect and Enablement team to establish a solid readiness plan for field sellers and global black belts that meets customer expectation and enables sales journey and adoption acceleration.

Influence ISV Agents roadmap & Connect Agent Store to our Agent365 story

Partner with internal ISV-focused teams and Product Marketing to influence and align ISV and Agent Store go-to-market strategies with broad AI narratives, including Agent 365, Microsoft Graph, and security/compliance frameworks. Also influence shaping product roadmaps that prioritize extensibility developments aligned to largest industry and function opportunity, customer outcomes and Artificial Intelligence Business Solutions (ABS) monetization goals. Define success metrics for the Agent Store experience, ensuring discoverability, trust, and actionable consumption signals that inform product improvements.

Cross-CSA Partnership with AI Business Process, and Cloud & AI Platforms

Serve as the extensibility liaison across CSAs, AI Business Partners, and (Cloud Artificial Intelligence Platform) CAIP to orchestrate demand generation, solution engineering, and customer success. Establish shared objectives and joint plays while creating “center of excellence” assets such as reference architectures, security baselines, and operational runbooks. Drive alignment on governance, compliance, and risk management to ensure secure and scalable deployment of Agents and Connectors across the ecosystem.

Required/minimum qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in Go-To-Market strategy, financial planning, business consulting, sales, sales operations, account management, business development, marketing, IT field sales, or a related fieldOR equivalent experience.3+ years experience in Near Term Strategy (1-2 years out), Management Consulting, or Finance.Additional or preferred qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years of Go-To-Market strategy, financial planning, business consulting, sales, sales operations, account management, business development, marketing, IT field sales, or a related fieldOR equivalent experience.Understanding of AI and App technologies, including LLMs, Agent protocols (MCP, A2A), orchestration frameworks (Semantic Kernel, AutoGen etc.). 2+ years of experience across partner development or channel marketing3+ years experience handling market data and analytics Business Intelligence development.The ability to analyze and decompose complex business problems to design and refine towards a desired improved outcome.Domain knowledge/expertise in Generative AI and main players in the market with competitive advantages of each solution.Understanding of take-out and defend deal strategies Additional skills: persuasion, influence without authority, storytelling (communication), simplification.Ability to understand strategic implications of change, train cross-functional teams, and provide leadership to overcome barriers and achieve results through individual and broader team efforts.

Sales Strategy Enablement IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
