Description

The Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) group is an exciting and fast evolving group within Microsoft whose vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering cloud capacity differentiated at scale. The organization is responsible for planning, delivery and provision of all data centers globally powering Microsoft cloud properties. CSCP supports over 200 online businesses including Bing, O365, OneDrive, Xbox and Windows Azure branded services.

Cloud Sourcing, Spares, Sustainability & Security (CS4) organization within CSCP manages sourcing and supply of IT hardware for the data centers. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable on-time performance, optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. We're looking for a strategist with consultant’s rigor, a storyteller’s clarity and bring along supply chain experiences — someone who can shape the strategy and tell the world why it matters.

The role of Senior Business Strategy Manager will focus on key areas:

Shape strategic imperativesSynthesize and craft clear, compelling messagingAlign communication across teams to ensure consistency and clarity

Distill complex supply chain strategic initiatives into clear, compelling external-facing materials.Translate high-level strategy into tangible messaging for diverse audiences. Work closely with supply chain executives to synthesize insights and develop communication materials and influence.Bring a consulting-style toolkit — structured thinking, executive presence, and crisp storytelling — to drive clarity across initiatives. Act as a thought partner to cross-functional teams, aligning on key narratives and ensuring consistent strategic messaging across the organization. Conduct structured problem-solving, market analysis, and benchmarking to develop recommendations and inform strategic direction. Support high-impact supply chain strategy projects from concept to execution.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experienceOR Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 3+ years marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience OR equivalent experience. 4+ years of experience in high-tech Supply Chain or Sourcing 2+ years of experience in Management Consulting, Supply Chain Strategy or Corporate Strategy Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in leading strategy projects involving cross functional teamsMBA or Master’s degree in Supply Chain is a plusExperience in owning exec-level communications Demonstrated capability in driving analysis, problem-solving and strategic thinking Passionate not only in defining strategic agenda, but also in driving execution and delivering results Ability to influence and build lasting relationships

Business Strategy IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.
