The Senior Business Program Manager plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, leading sales strategy execution across internal stakeholders and the organization, drives strategic rhythm, and business insights across the SME&C organization. This role will lead activities from sales organization rhythm of business (ROB) to enabling sales leadership support through things like customer and partner meeting success and project management to supporting operations and strategic initiatives. The Senior Business Program Manager role provides key support to enable delivery on strategy, core priorities, and business compliance expectations.

Business Operations
Collaborates with internal stakeholders and teams to supervise the creation and implementation of execution plans. Leads and oversees processes to ensure alignment across groups. Clearly communicates plans and mutual commitments across stakeholders, reviews process execution and performance to ensure results align with business priorities and scorecards. Sets effective practices for execution of strategies defined by leadership by leveraging consolidated information and advocating for and presenting clear business cases to the leader and business partners. Contributes to organizational design conversations and facilitates successful implementation of organizational plans and strategies (e.g., translates high-level strategic plans into concrete execution). Establishes key indicators of success in alignment with strategy to help streamline business strategy execution. Works within the organization to report against and adjust targets if necessary. Oversees corporate governance and performance management by providing insight and guidance on prioritizing and monitoring appropriate indicators, communicating progress to leadership, and evangelizing effective practices from the top levels of the company.
Creates clarity in ambiguous situations to facilitate and drive prioritization and decision making for leaders across the organization. Drives business direction and responsibility for leadership team to manage the planning process ensuring coordination with corporate planning processes as well as planning integration across the broader organization. Drives the architecture, development, and execution of the rhythm of business (ROB) aligned to the scope and complexity of the business. Provides direction for identifying and determining objectives to execute which are in alignment with the goals of the organization. Drives business review cadence. Ensures adherence to privacy and compliance, and drives accountability for the team and organization in executing core business activities. Works with leaders to drive expectation and influence content that enables realization of outcomes. Serves as a point of contact while understanding the business status and industry trends.
As appropriate, executes business plans to ensure continuation of business operations at all times, including in adverse conditions, in accordance with corporate governance. When needed, ensures checks and balances are in place for the team to ensure Microsoft's best interest with regard to strategic partnerships necessary for continuity of business. May strategize and develop business continuity plans with Microsoft corporate Crisis Management and Business Continuity teams.
Leverages knowledge of the organizational strategy and planned deliverables for the upcoming year(s) to design complex budgets. Works in partnership with Finance to approve budgets and develops forecasting plans in partnership with the leadership team. Tracks financial progress against budget and may manage complex budgets with significant negotiation. Provides input on the development of principles and/or guidelines for budgeting and forecasting. Identifies actions that can be taken to course-correct and drive performance improvement. Anticipates business challenges based on forecasts and larger organizational circumstances. Works with Procurement team to coordinate future resources. Collaborates with leaders regarding resource management planning. Ensures spend remains within budget that the leader is aligned on the headcount and budget strategy.
Executive Leader and Team Communications
Leads executive-level communication with a variety of internal audiences. Ensures alignment with business priorities. Develops content and messaging related to the team's mission and key projects. Proactively seeks out relevant content (e.g., security requirements, priorities, and/or updates) to communicate to the organization. Optimizes the leader's time by organizing the daily communications of the leader. Performs triage and ghostwriting on behalf of the leader to expedite leader's time. May perform executive-level communication with a variety of audiences.
Maximizing/ Extending the Leader
Supports the leader in one or more key business management areas (e.g., setting key goals, priorities, and definitions; culture and health; communications; budget/finance; industry/business knowledge). Synthesizes insights and leverages expertise to influence the leader and leadership team. Oversees content creation within the organization and, at times within the industry. Leads audits of Teams and SharePoint memberships, shareable and expiring links, and documentation storage practices to ensure appropriate confidentiality and sensitivity parameters are met.
Leverages relationships to influence and advise on strategic decisions, content, and/or expertise. Manages and builds relationships with leaders while using understanding of audience needs to ensure the optimal use of leaders' time. May interact with a broader array of high-level partners and stakeholders at scale for the business. Leverages key partnerships to drive the agenda for the leadership team and ensure follow up. Provides direction for criteria used to break down complex information into actionable steps for stakeholders. Creates alignment within partnerships by providing an objective point of view, ensuring all voices are heard, synthesizing ideas, and creating an action plan. Carries out related reporting and exception management as required. Organizes executive visits, including global events with customers.
Organizational Health
Supports and enables a healthy scorecard for the team/organization and promotes and influences culture initiatives aligned to defined People Strategy, connecting leaders and teams to One Microsoft Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) plan resources and guidance. Partners with Human Resources (HR), leader, and business management community on best ways to apply company guidance, accelerate progress related to culture and inclusion, define communications and action plans for the organization in response to employee signals. Capitalizes on team strengths and identifies development areas. Tracks the use of role-based compliance trainings and new trainings (e.g., security). Drives the training completion rates. As needed, may plan and execute on trainings and/or programs.
Special Project/Programs and Initiatives
Drives cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and manage complex business needs. Engages in project management or may act as a project/program manager to ensure organization-wide implementation of strategic efforts that require hands-on coordination across multiple functional disciplines and business organizations.

Experience with SME&C, Corporate and/or partner ecosystemExperience in a global or field-facing role.Business experience in the technology industry and knowledge of the Microsoft organization is a plusExperience leading complex projects independently, manage ambiguity, and drive alignment across diverse teams and storytelling skills; able to distill complex policy and business topics for varied audiences.Business Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
