Description

The Data Platform + Growth Executive Office is seeking a Senior Business Program Manager with a passion for driving scalable and impactful programs end to end.

As a Senior Business Program Manager (Sr. BPM) at Microsoft, you will take ownership of leading and driving strategic initiatives and operational excellence across the DPG Exec Office team. You will lead cross-functional programs that align with business priorities, improve processes, and deliver measurable impact. This role requires effective collaboration, analytical thinking, and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization.

This role is located in Redmond, WA and supports 50% on-site work and 50% work from home. Relocation assistance within the U.S. is available.

Leading Strategic Initiatives and Change Management: Owning/ leading direction and strategy to create and execute plans that align with new organizational goals, influencing others to adapt their behavior accordingly. Identifies opportunities, designs and executes programs, and ensures successful adoption and outcomes.Business Program Evaluation and Improvement - Collects and evaluates success criteria and performance metrics using scorecards and dashboards to monitor complex programs and align activities with business objectives. Uses data analytics to derive insights and identify risks and opportunities for program optimization.. Business Program Excellence and Execution - Synthesizes programs to stakeholders, partners, and customers, leveraging data and performance metrics to demonstrate value and show business impact, while adapting communication style and storytelling strategy, defining and executing on a landing and communication plan, leading the rhythm of business during plan execution, and working across teams to ensure all program requirements are met. Business Program Management - Leads a portfolio of complex projects, including planning, timelines, milestones, financial management, performance metrics, and resource needs, while communicating status and risks to stakeholders, ensuring accountability, understanding system mapping, and collaborating with teams to develop and communicate rigorous processes. Business Program Planning and Design Defines and tracks the success criteria and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and Key Results [OKRs] and Key Performance Indicators [KPIs], such as quality, adoption, usage, impact, effectiveness) for the program. Works with cross-functional (e.g., organizational, product, business) stakeholders (e.g., Engineering) to design compliant complex programs from initiation to delivery, with minimal coaching. Produces collateral (e.g., proposals, strategy walking deck, internal and external pitch content) to incorporate stakeholder needs and ensure the business objectives are met. Identifies and scopes opportunities to develop new programs and improve current ones. Identifies and provides solutions to root problems (e.g., root-cause analysis), defines the program strategy, gathers program requirements, identifies resource needs, creates the project plan and targets, and works across teams to align on the plan of record. Improves operations of existing programs by applying industry methodology, defining complex program issues, assessing various scenarios, and selecting the optimal scenario to resolve issues. Drives clarity in complex program issues and strives for simplification. Performs program landscape research and analysis (e.g., internal and/or external market, sales, delivery), forecasting, and examines business trends (e.g., customer feedback and expectations) to identify audience size and program scope, stay current, agile, and competitive. Understands overall business goals, objectives, and strategies, as well as short- and long-term business priorities. Understands and identifies current program risks, impact, and mitigation plans.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 4+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement OR equivalent experience. 3+ years experience managing complex programs with multiple stakeholders. 3+ years experience driving complex multi-stakeholder planning processes, problem solving, executing, and driving tangible outcomes. 3+ years leadership experience including leading change management. 3+ years experience with data analysis and performance metrics tracking, developing strategic plans based on gathered insights. 3+ years experience with cross-team collaboration, working across organizations and reporting boundaries. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field. Experience working in a matrixed global organization. Change management or Agile certification is a plus. Process Design – ability to re-engineer certain processes to increase efficiency, ex: using AI agents to assist with certain tasks.

Business Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
