Description

Join Microsoft’s Monetization and Business Planning (M+BP) team, the center of excellence for monetization strategy, pricing, and packaging across the multi-billion-dollar Microsoft Cloud portfolio. This team drives strategic thought leadership and business model innovation to accelerate growth.

As part of the Modern Work Business Planning group, you will shape monetization for the Microsoft 365 suite—including productivity apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft 365 Copilot. This role offers a unique opportunity to define licensing strategies for AI-first productivity solutions and build the foundation for an AI-powered digital workforce.

Define Licensing Models for Microsoft 365 and AI-first productivity solutions like Copilot.Develop Pricing & Packaging Strategies to drive monetization and revenue growth.Lead Business Model Innovation for Modern Work and AI productivity segments.Collaborate Across Teams (engineering, marketing, finance) to execute strategies.Analyze Market Trends & Customer Needs to inform licensing decisions.Ensure Operational Excellence through scalable licensing processes and compliance.Communicate Effectively with senior leadership through clear presentations and insights.Promote Inclusive Culture and act as a trusted advisor fostering growth and innovation.Embody our Culture and Values

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

5+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, law, marketing, business/corporate development, or related experience OR equivalent experience.5+ years of relevant work experience in writing licensing, policy, contract and/or legal terms OR 5+ years of sales and negotiation experience OR equivalent experience.Additional or preferred qualifications

8+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, law, marketing, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field OR 6+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field OR equivalent experience.7+ years of experience managing complex licensing terms and leading change initiatives, with a focus on delivering business outcomes across cross-functional teams and partner ecosystems.Experience in negotiation of licensing terms and contract management is a plus.In-depth and strategic understanding of Microsoft commercial licensing programs is preferred by not required at hiring.Excellent communicator who can adapt your style and message across various stakeholders and levels, including marketing and engineering executives, customers, and partners.Consistently deliver results and demonstrate good judgment, personal accountability, and high integrity.Business Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
