Description

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Senior Business Manager to join the Office of the Chief executive officer (CEO) of Microsoft’s commercial business. This role reports directly to the Chief of Staff for the commercial CEO and plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, strategic alignment, and execution across the global commercial business. You will be at the center of Microsoft’s customer obsession mission, helping to translate strategy into action through thoughtful planning, cross-functional coordination, and executive engagement.

This is a fast-paced, high-impact role that requires agility, precision, and a passion for making things happen. You will work closely with senior leaders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Communications, and Operations to ensure the commercial CEO’s priorities are executed with clarity and speed. From orchestrating global travel to managing the Rhythm of Business (RoB) and executive meetings, you will be the connective tissue that keeps the commercial CEO’s office running smoothly and strategically.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage the commercial CEO’s global travel plans, including destination selection, timing, and alignment to strategic priorities.Recommend optimal weeks and locations for travel and create detailed itineraries for executive approval.Collaborate with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) team to align commercial CEO’s keynote opportunities at first party events.Develop and publish the FY25 Rhythm of Business (RoB) calendar early to support planning across Microsoft teams.Align RoB with other teams to ensure cross-functional coordination.Ensure visibility and alignment across the senior leadership meetings and agendas.Project manage and operationalize executive meetings and offsites, including agenda development and follow-through.Partner with the Awards team to coordinate the Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) Distinguished Pinnacle Award selection and presentation.Analyze and report on how the commercial CEO’s allocates time across key priorities such as customers, partners, strategy, and internal operations.Drive special projects and strategic initiatives on behalf of the Chief of Staff (COS) and commercial CEO.Other:

Required/minimum qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related rolesOR equivalent experience.Proven experience in executive-level business management or chief of staff roles, preferably within a global organization, demonstrating ability to drive strategic alignment and operational excellence across multiple functionsAdditional or preferred qualificationsProven organizational and time management skills, capable of managing intricate schedules and competing priorities with easeAble to communicate clearly and diplomatically with leaders.Proven ability to collaborate across teams and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate insights to inform executive decision-making.Project management expertise; able to lead initiatives from planning through execution with attention to detail.Strategic thinking and ability to align operational plans with broader business goals.Demonstrates executive presence: consistently upholds confidentiality, applies sound judgment, and represents the Commercial CEO’s office with professionalismAgility and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities.Business Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
