Description

The COO (Chief Operating Officer) organization enables Microsoft’s commercial business to better serve every person and organization’s transformation and economic success. How? We design, build, and manage the levers that accelerate commercial growth and shorten the cycle between customer signal and delivery.

The Executive Office team supporting the COO plays a pivotal role in this journey and is responsible for maximizing the scale, impact, and voice of the COO and the broader organization. We accomplish this through four pillars: business operations, people & culture, communications, and cross org strategic project & program orchestration.

In close partnership with our Leadership Team and key stakeholders, you will design, manage, and continually evaluate employee experiences within our organization meet this bold ambition.

Your core areas of focus:

Lead Execution – Manage a set of employee programs that are in-sync with business rhythms across the company. When needed, recruit and direct volunteer teams to help scale and deliver those programs. Oversee project execution—including budget and timelines—while applying a test-and-learn approach and championing best practices. Act as a champion for best practices that can be leveraged by all.Organization Health - Lead efforts to strengthen team culture and well-being by gathering employee feedback, partnering with HR to track sentiment (e.g., Microsoft Signals), and driving action plans. Employee Engagement – cultivate core communities across our organization, helping to ensure they aren’t just successful in the day-to-day but are able to thrive.Every day is different. This individual will relish the creative design and collaboration while also have the capability to project manage and lead change.



Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.Additional or preferred qualificationsMaster's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 12+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.Business Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
