Description
OverviewMicrosoft is the leader in Healthcare AI. Dragon Copilot helps physicians, nurses, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals save time and improve outcomes for patients around the world. In this position you will drive core accuracy improvements to Dragon Copilot for nurses, including flowsheet population and note generation from nurse/patient conversations.
We are seeking an Applied Scientist who is curious and self-driven, with strong research skills and comfortable defining a path towards high-level goals. You will analyze data, evaluate new ideas, ship production code and models, and generalize learnings for the broader product.

Responsibilities
* Conduct research to improve AI accuracy of Microsoft Dragon Copilot for nurses.
* Integrate your research improvements into production code.
* Large-scale data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
* Document experiments and communicate results across diverse teams.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
* 6+ years of data science experience
* 6+ years of Python experience
* Doctorate or Master's in Computer Science or related field
Preferred Qualifications
* 4+ years of experience in healthcare AI or related field
* 2+ years of experience training/fine tuning AI/ML models, preferably LLMs/SLMs.
* 2+ years of experience building Generative AI pipelines, e.g. with RAG (Retrieval augmented generation).
* 2+ years of experience with Azure Machine Learning (AML) pipelines
* A record of publications in scientific venues (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, NAACL, EMNLP, CVPR, etc.).
Applied Sciences IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
