Overview

The Field Service Scheduling team within Business & Industry Copilots (BIC) seeks a Senior Applied Scientist to help realize our vision of building a state-of-the-art scheduling service that sets the standard for our industry. Responsibilities

The candidate should have: Optimization experience with scheduling algorithmsStay abreast of state-of-the-art approaches (including deep learning models) to address vehicle routing problems.You will be a member of the product team, designing experiments, creating benchmarks and identifying success metrics, and writing production code to implement the scheduling algorithm(s) with high quality.Collaborate closely with research organizations to bridge the gap between research and practice.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related experience (e.g., statistics predictive analytics, research)OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Travel: Occasional travel (0% to 25%) is expected in this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s or PhD focus in Artificial Intelligence (Planning and Scheduling), Operations Research(OR) or a related field. Background in Multi-agent Planning and Scheduling and/or Operations Research.Experience running your algorithms in a production environment and responding to customer inquiries. Experience in reinforcement learning.Experience in Genetic / heuristic scheduling algorithms.Proven experience in solving vehicle routing problems. Demonstrated analytical abilities to dissect complex problems and propose effective solutions.

Applied Sciences IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
