Description

We are looking for a Senior Applied Scientist with experience to join our fun and challenging journey. Homepages Whole Page Optimization (WPO) team is responsible for delivering best whole page experience for a variety of homepages that Microsoft provides through different products (e.g., Edge browser, MSN.com). We are a team full of high caliber, talented, passionate developers from different regions around world. The team optimizes for global maxima over engagement, revenue, and retention by organizing homepage components to an optimal prominence and placement using available context, intent, and past behavior. By leveraging personalized ranking and recommendation techniques, we are building the framework to provide the best personalized homepage experience that match users’ interests.

You'll have the opportunity to shape the design of homepages, and have a direct impact on various products that millions of users use every day. We explore and invent cutting edge methods in statistics, information retrieval, data mining, machine learning, UX framework and distributed systems to solve hard problems. You will have enormous resources at your disposal; high-performance distributed systems with vast amounts (peta-bytes) of raw and processed data from our logs and the tools to work with those data. You have the right environment and strong support to drive your favorite features to solution. Leverage state-of-art machine learning techniques to provide best personalized experience to end users.Originate, implement, and iterate on machine learning features & models to keep improving our product quality.Closely collaborate with different teams within Microsoft to expose best personalized contents to end users, enable agile development & experiments, deliver cross-team impact.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related experience (e.g., statistics predictive analytics, research)OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)OR equivalent experience.3+ years of industry experiences in machine learning or Natural Language Processing.Experience with coding and familiarity with at least one Objective Oriented Programming language, including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in recommendation systems.Demonstrated ability to be productive and effective in a highly collaborative environment.

Experience in Big Data machine learning with Cosmos/Scope/Spark/.

Experience with design, problem solving, and data analysis skills, with demonstrated passion for quality, performance, and engineering excellence.Applied Sciences IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
