We are seeking an experienced HR leader to build and lead our new Agile Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) Team — the strategic engine of agility within the C+AI HR organization. This role will be instrumental in evolving how we deliver HR partnership at scale, ensuring our HRBP community operates with speed, consistency, and innovation.
This position serves as a right-hand partner to the C+AI HRBP Leader, owning the HRBP operating model and driving enterprise-wide excellence in how HRBPs deliver impact. The Director will oversee the Agile HRBP team, allocate resources to high-priority business and talent initiatives, champion process improvements, and embed AI-enabled ways of working across the function.
This is a unique opportunity to lead at the intersection of strategy, people, and operations, shaping the next-generation HR model for one of Microsoft’s most transformative business groups.
Responsibilities
Build and lead the Agile HRBP team as the operational backbone of C+AI HR, ensuring resources are flexed to meet the most critical business priorities.Drive operational excellence across HRBP motions — simplifying processes, removing friction, and improving consistency in delivery across orgs.Embed AI-enabled practices into HR workflows, piloting new tools, driving adoption, and scaling learnings across the HRBP community.Partner with Aligned HRBP leaders to ensure a seamless operating rhythm between deep business partnership (Aligned HRBPs) and enterprise agility (Agile HRBPs).Serve as a driver to operationalize the HRBP vision, managing priorities, and ensuring execution against strategic goals.Champion process improvement, going deep into HRBP workflows to identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and impact.Drive communication and transparency, ensuring major HR initiatives and motions are consistently represented and landed across all business areas.Develop and coach Agile HRBP talent, building capability, capacity, and career growth within a dynamic, high-impact team.Foster a unified HRBP culture, emphasizing shared learning, cross-functional collaboration, and an enterprise-first mindset.
Qualifications
Required / Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field AND 6+ years experience in human resources or related processes (e.g., hiring, training, performance management) OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field AND 9+ years experience in experience in human resources or related processes (e.g., hiring, performance management) OR equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR Business Partner or HR leadership roles.5+ years leading HR teams or large-scale HR programs in a complex, matrixed environment.5+ years of proven success driving organizational transformation and operating model design.5+ years of demonstrated ability to lead through influence, drive cross-functional collaboration, and deliver measurable outcomes.2+ years of data literacy and comfort with AI or digital tools to enhance HR effectiveness.5+ years of experience in organizational design, workforce planning, or HR process optimization.5+ years of demonstrated passion for innovation and continuous improvement within the HR function.5+ years of demonstrated communication skills; able to navigate and influence across multiple stakeholder groups.
HR Business Partnership M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
