We are looking for a Accounting Manager - Lease Accounting to help shape the future of our accounting and financial processes for strategic partnerships.The Lease Accounting & Analysis Team is part of Microsoft’s Corporate Accounting organization. The team is responsible for the accounting, analysis and reporting of all lease transactions in the Company’s 10Q and 10K in accordance with ASC842 and supporting compliance with the Company’s IFRS16 reporting requirements. The team partners closely with accounting and finance teams supporting the designing, building, and operation of cloud data centers and offices worldwide, accounting for leases covering a broad business scope including data centers, offices, server and networking equipment. As our supported businesses grow, the team remains innovative, leveraging technology for continuous process improvement. The Accounting Manager - Lease Accounting will own and maintain our lease accounting database and related controls around lease accounting data and reporting.

Manage and implement lease accounting data governance strategies and processes in compliance with accounting policies and guidelines including ASC842 and IFRS16, ensuring data quality and integrity of lease inputs into financial statements.Enhance and manage all lease accounting reporting. Investigate and resolve stakeholder inquiries, accounting deviations, and other data anomalies.Monitor and audit lease accounting systems to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance. Verify effective operations with business partners that help with end-to-end lease processing, payments, accounting and related finance controls.Implement process improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and consistency collected from business partners and team feedback, incorporating industry best practices.Identify, evaluate, and leverage technology that could automate or speed up internal processes.Review controls and related documentation, and apply to newly created reports to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) regulations. Help with the risk assessment process and review documentation. Participate in documentation of process flows and financial controls. Assist the control owners in maintaining SOX controls and provides GAAP guidance as needed. Ensure reporting tools are updated timely and accuratelyOtherEmbody our culture and values
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 2+ years accounting or finance experience OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 1+ year(s) accounting or finance experience OR equivalent experience1+ year(s) working with a large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systemAdditional or preferred qualifications
Lease accounting, administration and analyses, and controls for multinational companies transacting in multiple currenciesProfessional accounting certification such as CPA or equivalentAdvanced skills in applications such as Excel and PowerBILease accounting and adminstration tool experience such as Costar and TririgaAccounting IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,800 - $151,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,800 - $168,000 per year.
