Description

Define the product vision and strategy for the text and chat.

Design and lead a multi-year roadmap, balancing short and long-term goals and investments to scale globally.

Own cross-functional ownership of product development process from ideation through development and commercial launch.

Engage regularly as a trusted advisor with business leaders to understand their strategies, end-to-end business processes, pain points and priorities to inform product strategy, while providing transparency into roadmaps and managing expectations.

Analyze competitors and industry trends to advance our products and drive innovation.

As a Vice President of Product you will lead the strategy and development of all text and messaging communications apps for Workspace including Gmail and Chat. You will build product management teams, work with engineering and UX leadership to guide the overall vertical strategy for this space. You'll work with customers, product managers, solutions architects, and Go-To-Market colleagues to understand customers' use cases, and translate them into technical designs and implementations.

The products that make up Workspace are well known, and they are individually popular, having now achieved users across multiple products. In this role, you will drive the work that brings them closer together to reach the next level of excellence, both from engineering and user experience perspective. Through your leadership, you'll anticipate and head off problems by generating solutions for resolving them quickly, build and manage a product team, and evaluate feedback from support teams to identify product errors and gaps. A key focus will be leveraging AI to transform these products to deliver incredible value for end users and customers. You'll also work closely with senior Googlers in support of your product area.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. The US base salary for this full-time position is $550,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

20 years of experience in Product Management or a related role.

10 years of experience managing a Product Management team.

Preferred qualifications: MBA or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.

Ability to balance technical and business issues.

Effective leadership capabilities, and ability to motivate a team.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with both technical and business experts.

Expertise leading teams towards business goals.



Extended Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

20 years of experience in Product Management or a related role.

10 years of experience managing a Product Management team.
