Description

Identify process bottlenecks in the data pipeline, implement automation or tooling to drive improvements, identify key data collection gaps, and establish mechanisms to maintain a high quality model output. Align synthetic and real-world data collection roadmaps between Google organizations to enable deeper technical and product collaboration. Drive the data acquisition plan of record, aligning vendor capacity with engineering milestones and product launch cycles. Develop creative solutions for complex logistical challenges in unique, remote, or constraint-heavy environments. Partner with Engineering to design and iterate on data collection hardware rigs, providing feedback from the field to improve device ergonomics and reliability.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Data Operations Technical Program Manager for Google Beam, you will lead the data acquisition operations that power our machine learning models and computer vision algorithms. You will be responsible for innovating, operationalizing, and scaling our data capture processes and ensuring our algorithms are trained on high-fidelity visual and audio inputs. In this role, you will bridge the physical and digital worlds by managing captures and collaborating with cross-functional teams to build ML and algorithmic solutions for new products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience in program management. Experience in training data for ML models (e.g., handling, managing, and coordinating training data). Experience with the full machine learning (ML) model life-cycle, including development, deployment, and monitoring.

Preferred qualifications: 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects. Experience with video and audio capture, including selecting and debugging cameras, lenses, microphones, and sensors to ensure high-quality data. Experience in managing external partners and vendors. Experience analyzing data from video and audio sources to create digital visual representations.



Extended Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience in program management. Experience in training data for ML models (e.g., handling, managing, and coordinating training data). Experience with the full machine learning (ML) model life-cycle, including development, deployment, and monitoring.
