Description

Provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers, foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Define and execute the technical strategy for leveraging AI to enhance developer productivity and feature velocity across Workspace infrastructure. Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure that incorporates AI/ML solutions to automate and optimize development workflows, testing, deployment, and operational tasks. Analyze existing development processes and infrastructure to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement, implementing AI-driven solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times. Collaborate with product managers, other engineering teams, and research teams to understand their needs, gather requirements, and integrate AI solutions effectively into the Workspace ecosystem.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in software development, with a focus on infrastructure, developer tools, or platform engineering. 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction. Experience with large-scale distributed systems and cloud platforms. Experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., C++, Java, Python, Go).

Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms. 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects. Understanding of AI/ML concepts and their application in optimizing software development workflows. Understanding of Google Workspace products or similar collaboration platforms. Knowledge of web and mobile applications, preferably Android.

Extended Qualifications
