Description
Design and scale authentication and authorization systems capable of managing trillions of objects and millions of QPS with zero downtime. Resolve distributed systems issues involving data consistency and failure modes to ensure protection of enterprise customer data. Act as the technical GCS, defining clear requirements and incremental deliverables for cross-platform security initiatives. Lead collaborative problem-framing with stakeholders, building consensus across engineering and product teams to deliver win-win technical solutions. Execute the enterprise security strategy by building transparent correctness mechanisms that adapt to an evolving global security landscape.Google Cloud's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. In this role, you will be solving for one or more scaling dimensions of trillions of blobs, million+ Queries Per Second (QPS) and exabytes of data. You will be among the few teams in the entire industry who can manage such scales. You will be in the Google Customer Solutions (GCS) security and privacy pillar to address these two business-critical needs: table stakes capabilities in Security and Privacy, one of the top business agreement blockers and impedes the onboarding of new workloads in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)/GCS and from a risk standpoint for customers, data privacy and the customer's ability to holistically manage their data protection.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.8 years of experience programming in C++. 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects. Experience building software for security.
Extended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.8 years of experience programming in C++. 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
