Description
Manage and grow a team of engineering analysts in Seattle and build relationships with the T&S Applied Data Intelligence (ADI) leads and Engineering/Program Manager (PM) partners to connect the team. Drive strategic leadership to expand our incident response and forensic capabilities in particular focusing on large-scale data analysis from different sources and view points. Utilize your cross-functional collaboration skills, influencing senior stakeholders to make data-driven changes to our strategy protecting Google accounts. Provide operational leadership for security incidents affecting many or high-risk users. Perform on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis, including weekend coverage/holidays.In this role, you will lead our new, dynamic Trust and Safety Account Threats team in Kirkland, collaborate with our existing teams in Zurich and Bangalore. You will be focused on rapid incident response to protect billions of users from account compromise, scaled account abuse, and other emerging threats. You and the team will be on the front lines, in-depth into active security incidents, analyzing data to understand threats, and taking action to keep our users safe.
Our mission is to protect Google accounts and products from a range of threats and abuse. You will lead and grow the team to respond to critical incidents, analyse data to programmatically find and close vulnerabilities in our protections and to make our response more efficient.
You will help us find and understand how the most sophisticated threat actors are getting their Google accounts and help us strategically stay ahead of them, by partnering across Trust and Safety, Engineering and Product teams. While the role’s focus is on managing the team, you will also contribute to the analysis, resolution and communication especially of the most critical cases.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$274,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering), or equivalent practical experience.7 years of experience in data-centric roles using SQL and Python within cyber security, threat intelligence, trust and safety, fraud analysis, or data science.2 years of experience in people management, mentorship and technical development of other analysts or engineers. 2 years of experience in an adversarial domain, such as Trust and Safety, Security, Fraud Detection.
Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, etc.).
Experience in cybersecurity, incident response, forensic analysis, threat intelligence or threat detection. Expertise in growing others and advancing capabilities in the areas of data analysis, threat intelligence or incident response. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and leading towards making data-driven decisions. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to stakeholders at different levels and to influence decision-making across roles.
