Description
Develop and enhance AI/ML client libraries for storage. Lead the team to design, develop, and tune benchmarks for GCP Storage systems, positioning GCP Storage as the premier solution for AI/ML workloads. Assist key customers in onboarding their AI/ML workloads onto GCP storage. Work closely with cross-functional teams across GCP including Core GCS, File Solutions, GKE, Cloud ML Compute Services (CMCS), and Networking to drive storage innovation for AI/ML.Google Cloud's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google Cloud's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. You will anticipate our customer needs and be empowered to act like an owner, take action and innovate. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. In this role, you will drive the strategy and execution to position Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Storage as the industry's premier solution for planet-scale AI/ML workloads. You will lead the development and tuning of high-credibility benchmarks for GCP Storage systems and develop enhanced AI/ML client libraries. Additionally, you will provide technical direction in areas such as file systems, operating systems, and performance engineering.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $262,000-$369,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in software development. 7 years of experience in building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture. 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Experience with AI algorithms and machine learning infrastructure. Experience with machine learning optimization. Experience in file systems, operating systems, performance engineering, and the rapidly evolving AI/ML landscape.
