Description

Write product or system development code.

Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices amongst available technologies (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

Implement solutions in one or more specialized ML areas, utilize ML infrastructure, and contribute to model optimization and data processing.

Design, build and deliver solutions to ship Gemini to cloud customers. Collaborate with other teams (e.g., CoreML, Google Deepmind, Google Labs, Search etc.) to ensure the delivery of highly available, performant, and secure APIs that scale globally. Design, develop, and maintain the infrastructure behind Vertex AI’s GenAI APIs, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

We are a team in Cloud AI - Vertex organization. We focus on building highly differentiated, highly scalable, and easy-to-use GenAI products and services that enable our customers to transform their business with Generative AI (GenAI). The team is fast paced, the role is direct, and requires strong engineers who can go into the details and bring all Google Deepmind (GDM) GenAI models to the world and Cloud Customers via the Vertex Serving Platform.

In this role, you will be part of the Stack Management team - which owns the code delivery for the entire platform. You will build critical infrastructure to facilitate rollouts, testing, and overall system health and reliability.The Google Cloud AI Research team addresses AI challenges motivated by Google Cloud’s mission of bringing AI to tech, healthcare, finance, retail and many other industries. We work on a range of unique problems focused on research topics that maximize scientific and real-world impact, aiming to push the state-of-the-art in AI and share findings with the broader research community. We also collaborate with product teams to bring innovations to real-world impact that benefits our customers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

1 year of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.

1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging). Experience in C++, infrastructure systems, and Cloud.

Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.

2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. Experience in Python, Vertex AI, machine learning infrastructure, and API design. Ability to move quickly and adapt to changing requirements. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to organize stakeholders from across teams. Passion for service health and system maintainability.

Extended Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
