Description
Integrate the existing Android Telemetry framework into Extended Reality (XR) products, and creating or extending existing infrastructure/pipelines for field data collection and processing for all XR/Augmented Reality (AR) programs within the organization. Collaborate with Platform and Perception teams to define metrics, design systems to collect telemetry data from AR/Virtual Reality (VR) products, and leverage the metrics to enable the decision-making process. Scale the tools and infrastructures to support a growing number of internal clients and external product partners. Work on projects in Python, Go, SQL, Java, and C++.Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience with software development in Java or C++. 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products. 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. Experience with the Google infrastructures (e.g., Borg, BigTable, Spanner, Sawmill, Dremel, Flume, Monarch, Goops).Preferred qualifications: 4 years of experience using Google infrastructure to design and develop logging clients, data pipelines, back-end services, or front-end web applications. Experience with telemetry frameworks such as Westworld, Clearcut, Mendel. Experience with data storage and processing tools such as Sawmill, Flume, Dremel, Spanner. Experience in developing production-grade Android applications, services and user interfaces. Experience in SQL and reporting/dashboarding. Experience with Gerrit, Git, repo/submodules.
Extended Qualifications
